The as-is/no return policy at Ashley furniture is horrible. I purchased a bunch of NEW items, one of which was a sectional sofa. Upon delivery yesterday, the sofa would not fit down the basement stairs, so it was returned. I contacted Ashley about the issue and they said I could come in and pick another item. I told them I had looked online and the sofas I liked had the same, or bigger, dimensions than the one I purchased. So, I asked, nicely, for a refund. I was told the item was sold as-is. I asked for a price for the item, so I could raise the issue to the attention of American Express, and I was told there was no price on specific items. I ordered a dinning room set with six chairs, a buffet, a bedroom set and the couch. My order was well over $5,000. I'm simply asking to be refunded for the cost of the sectional, and they're telling me they don't know the price of it. I asked how it is that I could come in and pick a replacement item without them knowing the value of what I had purchased. They said they would look for the price and call me back in a few minutes. an hour and forty-five minutes pass and I call back for the price of the sofa, they said the store manager is out today, but he would call me tomorrow with the price. I called their Consumer Affairs Department and explained I was unable to get a price on an item I purchased. After some wait time, A gentleman told me a representative from the store would contact me with the price of the item within 10 minutes. Here I sit, almost an hour later, with no price. Regardless of whether or not American Express can assist me, the customer service, or lack thereof, from Ashley Furniture has been far less than horrible. At a minimum, I want American Express to know about the hassle and inform their customers. I'm very disappointed in AF. I like their products. I like their sales associates I've dealt with in the past. I've spent well over $7,000 there in the past few months. One would think they would want to keep repeat business. At this point, I have nothing good to say about them.

After today, I'm certain Ashley Furniture is the most unscrupulous business I've come across in years. I've since turned the issue over to American Express. Imsimply tired of dealing with them and having them lie to me.
