The as-is/no return policy at Ashley furniture is horrible. I purchased a bunch of NEW items, one of which was a sectional sofa. Upon delivery yesterday, the sofa would not fit down the basement stairs, so it was returned. I contacted Ashley about the issue and they said I could come in and pick another item. I told them I had looked online and the sofas I liked had the same, or bigger, dimensions than the one I purchased. So, I asked, nicely, for a refund. I was told the item was sold as-is. I asked for a price for the item, so I could raise the issue to the attention of American Express, and I was told there was no price on specific items. I ordered a dinning room set with six chairs, a buffet, a bedroom set and the couch. My order was well over $5,000. I'm simply asking to be refunded for the cost of the sectional, and they're telling me they don't know the price of it. I asked how it is that I could come in and pick a replacement item without them knowing the value of what I had purchased. They said they would look for the price and call me back in a few minutes. an hour and forty-five minutes pass and I call back for the price of the sofa, they said the store manager is out today, but he would call me tomorrow with the price. I called their Consumer Affairs Department and explained I was unable to get a price on an item I purchased. After some wait time, A gentleman told me a representative from the store would contact me with the price of the item within 10 minutes. Here I sit, almost an hour later, with no price. Regardless of whether or not American Express can assist me, the customer service, or lack thereof, from Ashley Furniture has been far less than horrible. At a minimum, I want American Express to know about the hassle and inform their customers. I'm very disappointed in AF. I like their products. I like their sales associates I've dealt with in the past. I've spent well over $7,000 there in the past few months. One would think they would want to keep repeat business. At this point, I have nothing good to say about them.

    So, after about four hours, Ashley finally quoted me a line item price for the sectional. It seemed low to me but who knows, it wasn't listed on the receipt they faxed me, so I guess they never had the single item price on there. I arrived home and showed the receipt to my wife. She produced our store receipt and low and behold the price for each item was listed! Ashley Furniture whited-out/removed the line item prices before they sent me the receipt!!! This is the exact same receipt with the exact same handwriting. The price I paid for the item wa about $300 mor than they told me it was.

    After today, I'm certain Ashley Furniture is the most unscrupulous business I've come across in years. I've since turned the issue over to American Express. Imsimply tired of dealing with them and having them lie to me.

    So, after a two page letter to Ashley Furniture, I was contacted by a very friendly lady this morning informing me I would receive a full refund without any restocking fee. Kudos to Ashely Furniture for resolving the matter, but shame on them for having it go this far.

    Buyer beware.

    Hi Darin, thank you for your email; it gives me hope.  I too had an unfortunate experience with Ashley Furniture. I have no merchandise, yet  they have nearly $5000 of my hard earned money.     Beyond pissed I heard how horrible they're delivery service is. He asked me could he remove my patio door latch which has the lock on I it I said ok sure. They leave and I notice he didn't put it back so can't lock my door I call before they left the area no callback after six calls which they ask me a mil questions like why was it removed like I'm the mover. Then they say the mover said he didn't do it like I got a drill and took my own damn lock off. They get here an I say u gonna really look at me an blatenly say u didnt remove it he say it may have slipped my mind. Because he didnt feel like comin bck. Then they threw it on an walked off without putting it on right now I'm really pissed I said its not locking so he tries to say call maintenance cus they made the latch wrong like I haven't been living here for months with a perfectly fine lock. I lost it main thence didn't take it off u took it off knowing u didn't know what u were doing now me an my kids have a ground level sliding door with no lock after spending over six gees with them. I will go to the end of the earth with complaints as expenive as they are I opulent even get a simple damn latch that they removed. They have terrible ratings and a mil complaints about their deliveries bad enough they have no refund or any kind of policy that benefits their well paying customer they will gt sick of seeing my face they have another two gees from me on hold towars a bed room set I don't even want now with no way to reinburst never a effing gen
