Cancellation policy

When I enrolled in Bally fitness their manager told me that i can cancel membership at any time with no cost. So when I was planning to move india i went to my fitness center to cancel my membership and they told me that i need to call 800-638-1343 and I was like why i need to call this number because i haven't called this number when i got my membership. Anyway i called this number later and lady on the ph told me that i cannot cancel my membership over ph and again i went to my fitness center and they told me the same. Again i called that number and this time they told me that I need to send a cancellation request letter to their office at Washington DC and I asked why? I mean why i need to write a letter & post to cancel my membership? meantime i finish this process they already charged me for another month service. They just want to give hard time to customers, it should be easy to cancel, they all are liar. Even when i was a member they didn't provide good service as they told me before i became member. I am regretting to be a member of bally but i recommend everyone out there not to become a member of this fitness center unless you want to have hard time.
