washer is a mess

Purchased Whirlpool Centennial washer and dryer at Lowe's and would love to return it, but I've had it for more than a year.  I needed something for a small space and was guaranteed by rep that this was a high quality machine.  Wrong!   I have never had my clothes so wrinkled during a process.  The delicate clothes are destroyed; the non-delicates, everyday items come out looking like they've been banged against a wall, wrung out, and stepped on.  Seriously!   I do not like ironing sweat pants!!!  Perhaps there is something that can be fixed on this?
