I was a customer for 15 years. I got tired of the bill going up. I called to cancel and they said they would send boxes to return the equipment. It took them two months and several phone calls for them to send boxes. Dish Network tried to send and resend equipment that was refused. Now they want early termination fees, but I was not under a contract. They said since they sent equipment out to keep my bill down that I was under a new contract. I did not sign anything or accept delivery of equipment. The account was cancelled, I have no equipment to utilize Dish Network, but they are still saying my account is active and continuing to charge monthly fees. The service was cancelled June 8, 2015 and the most recent bill states service through August. Why would I keep paying a bill for a service I am unable to use. I want to clear this situation up so my credit rating will not be negatively effected.
