Refusal to Cancellation

I joined LifeTime Fitness on September 2016. They had some offer going on and they told us that we are on month to month membership. My wife was on trial membership with us and she got confirmed in October. This November we decided we do not want to go ahead with the membership as our Apartment Gym has now renovated. When we asked them to cancel the membership, they told us that we are on Loyalty Membership which means we can't leave the membership till 1 year. This was not what was communicated to us. Also, they showed us the agreement signed by us which we don't remember signing at all. Also, it was not communicated to us that my Wife will also be a part of the Annual membership. The Account Manager who dealt with us while enrolling us had also hidden/lied about few other things which we came to know later.
