Most complaints against PRA involve either attempts to collect on unowed debts, or harassing calls to the wrong people.  Other complaints indicate they attempt to collect on unowed debts through deceptive talk-offs and otherwise evade validation.

Send a letter disputing the alleged debt, and demanding proof you owe it.  Send that letter certified return receipt requested.

If you have further problems, contact FTC and your state Attorney General for assistance.

You should also contact a consumer attorney, as they may be in violation of FDCPA and state debt collection laws.  You might try www.naca.net

I became a U.S. Cellular in 1983 and have continued to this date. As a Plant Manager for a fortune 100 company the staff and I was ask to convert to AT&T around 2002, I stood my grounds for U.S. Cellular and all Dept. Managers and Supervisors stayed with U.S. Cellular. In 2010 I retired and purchased a cheap phone with U.S. Cell on a supposed one year contract. My wife and I went forward today to re-up our contract and upgrade to much better phones. After being told my contract was a two year contract, I also found out my 30 yrs. of support to U.S. Cellular ment nothing. I did not even hear let me see what I can do or did I feel like a valued customer. I am not sure what has happened to U.S. Cell but the meaning of customer focus, valued customer or care has been lost. I will for the 1st time in 30 yrs. seek other Cellular companies .
