I've gotten several calls to inform me of a civil suit against me. I ignored until my curiosity got me & I listened to message. I was told I am respondent in a civil suit, all messages were the "final warning". I was given 2 phone numbers # 224-236-7273 & 224-788-7279. Each number gave me the same info. They had the last 4 numbers of my Social, and address. They claimed they mailed to me March 24 2022. I've recv'd nothing.
I was told this is re a case from 2017 for which I've never recv'd mail, from HSBC (?) for $670.49 on a Mastercard. I was told that I last paid $115.05 with card (?) or check ending with 2259. I need to "mediate" this & pay just $670.49 or go to court & pay $1971.32 total debt plus court costs if I fought & lost.
I was told they were sending me an email with more info. I didn't recv, called back, they re-sent. This is the info:

    They told me that I or someone received some type of loan in 2018 as well as they purported that entity had been sending me correspondence since that time!   I told them no, been living at my current resident for 22 years!  The script they work from is so bogus and filled with lies!  They also had the audacity to tell me I need to retain an attorney.  I laughed, then informed them that I worked in the legal community for more than 30 years and I know their game and told them to BRING IT!  I can fun with this!  They hung up very quickly then!  They are debt collectors skirting the laws by alleging they are affiliated a lawfirm in violationof the FDCPA!  Ask them to prove everything they are saying by putting and sending it ALL in writing including all documentation with all signatures and assignments.  Probably the debt they bought the statute of limitation has run out too!  Those are just a few tips for starter!  Not legal advice, but just know the game that they play hoping people are ignorant to their scam, get scared and pay them!  Also tell them, since they are recording calls and they fail to inform you of that because they are trying to get you to contract with over the phone, "ALL RIGHTS RESERVED WITHOUT PREJUDICE AND WITHOUT RECOURSE"  -- they hate that too!  EVERYTHING in life is a contract!  Learn that and always reserve your rights -- it will help protect you not them!

    Yes, they called my husband's phone with this stupid recording.  This scams are getting to be too ridiculous and it is a shame that they are scamming people out of their hard earned money.

    I got a call from 938-777-1358. Park mediations said I owed a bill from a payday loan in 2016 or 2017band it had been in many collections office but I never responded and now they want $1077, then $577 but I asked for a letter stating I owed this and she told me after I pay a payment I will get an email.  Is this a scam?
