Several months ago I reserved a car through Hotwire, as the holidays approached family members changed plans.  I called Hotwire to cancel the reservation, I was hoping to get a refund, at worst a credit to my account.  The customer service representative (I use that term lightly) and her supervisor told me over and over, “no refunds, no exchanges, no transfers.” They did not care about why I no longer needed the car, they had my $140.00.  They offered no solution, no recompense, nothing.  The next day I received a call from another Hotwire representative, he was calling because I had emailed the CEO.  At first I thought “wow, what a quick response, maybe he has a solution.” No such luck, he just regurgitated the same company line.  So instead of helping a customer resolve their problem and find a solution that both could agree upon, Hotwire stuck to their rigid policies.  Instead of doing something to keep a customer, they drove one away.  As I told each of the Hotwire representatives and their CEO I am posting on every complaint board I can find on the internet as well as social media to let everyone know what a farce of a company Hotwire is.  In the end the bad PR I will produce for Hotwire will far exceed the $140.00 I spent.
