Hey, this isn't about Alamo, but my significant other and I were involved in a accident in Charleston, SC. We were broadsided by a girl who was driving her BF full size brand new Dodge pickup, she had run two stop lights, and thank goodness my man saw her comming, and he swerved just enough that she hit us behind the cab of his full size GMS crew cab, with an extended bed, right behind the dirvers door. Well he had full coverage on the truck, so he found out the frame was actually broke, and it was going to be a while before he got it fixed, and he uses a truck for his work. So, he went to "Enterprise" rent a car, and they quoted him a price, and so on and such and such, and he explained that it should be covered by his insurance, but he was also goning to take the woman to court, and make her insurance pay. Well, they billed his credit card anyway, and the charges were nothing like what they had quoted him when he got the rental truck from them, so he haggled it out with them, and they g ave him a final totaly of something like 600.00 dollers, which he said would be fine, well he gets a statement from either them, or the bank, I can't remember, and they had charged him over $2800.00 for the so called $600.00 bill! So, I can feel for your situation, because they will tell you one thing, but they have your credit card, so they just go ahead and bill you whatever they want! He ended up having to get out the original paperwork, and take it to the lawyer & fight them, to get it all strait, this was after calling, and calling and getting the run around for about a month! As far as I am concerned all them car rental people are rip offs and they will take you ever chance they get, especially older people who don't know any better! I know this is a different situation than you had, but it's still a rental car ripp of sceam! :)
