Got a call from someone claiming to be from homeland security stating that they had intercepted a envelope from Readers Digest with a LARGE check being sent to me.  Said that I owed $2,475 to have it sent on to me.  Gave me a name of an alledged prize coordinator for Readers Digest who also told me that I would have to pay the amount.  Both were very convincing and promised to try to help me defer the charge and would call back.  In the meantime I checked with BBB and was told this was a scam.  The number I was given to call the man from Readers Digest turned out to be for Paetec Communications Inc.and I also found that this man did not work for the Digest, even though he said he did.  I also found that there was another party that had been given the very same story I had .  Right down to the same amount of money to the case number for Homeland security.  These guys are doing some shady things!

    just had call from 732 587-1245...well i watch #ID and i #google EVERYTHING! i didn't answer, no vm. i hope they call back i have a REALLY LOUD whistle sitting right next to me :)

    Just got a call from 732-806-3199 looking for my husband and she would not give me any info, she said she was from R M V ??  scam, reverse lookup showed Paetec Communications

    Im from Australia and somehow i have been roped into this aswell, i cant find any information on how to cancel whatever it is im being charged for. Im desperatley after ideas here???

    Been seeing  732-806-3199 on caller ID 2x's a day for 3 weeks now. It shows as Lakewood, NJ. I did answer one evening & there was a recording asking me to hold for the next operator.  I just hung up.

    Received multipe calls from 1-315-519-4196 out of Carthage NY with Paetec Communications, heavy Indian accent. Telling me that there is a case of fraud against me and if I did not call right back an arrest warrent in my name would be going out.  All a SCAM, be warned. track your accounts, be careful with your cards online.

    Paetec Comm is nothing more than a switchboard type operation enabling scammers to call getting around the do not call list.   When you call back they record your tel. number & forward to their clients and then a guy will show up selling just
    about everything.   Do not call back!

    I got a call from 201-851-4307 Hackensack, NJ. I looked up the number and it was Paetec Communication in Newark, NJ. If you would see the thousands of apartments built outside of Newark and over 90% of them are lived in by individuals of Indian descent. Whenever I get phone calls from "unavailable" or NJ it is always some Indian person speaking. Three telecommunication companies in NJ must sell space to these scammer and let them go about their business. One time I played with one of them and told him I was just seeing how long I could keep him on the phone and he became extremely impolite. The government needs to find a way to shut these unscrupulous individuals down. They take your money and pay their rents with it so they can live in the United State and become rich by ripping us off. Sick!

      I got a call from unknown and then told to call 718-732-0548. Also page communication. Supposedly I need to get a gift card to have "My Grant Money" put onto it. What a Scam!!!

    paetec communications inc ny keeps calling saying their with the FBI and has awarnet for my arrest.they leave this no. 5852064086.i haven't done anything wrong.so . I think its just ascam.

    Starting October 16th, 2017 there's a number that called me & I didn't recognize the number because of caller id. So I let it go to voicemail. I checked the voicemail on my phone seeing what it was. The person ended up not saying anything & then hanging up. It was nothing important apparently.

    Today I just got a phone call from the same number but this time I had the number on block because of that situation. So my phone didn't go off. It just went straight to voicemail. So I checked my voicemail like I did on the 16th (which was last week to be exact.) I heard nothing on the voicemail again.

    The number from both of these calls are (716)-346-8805. To anyone that gets this phone number on their caller id. It's from a landline. And I bet you this is a scam that this phone number they are calling from. Paetec should be let know that their number is being used for scams right away.

    Gotten a call from 646-770-9771 early on today but didn't pick up. So decided to call back to find out that the number isn't a real number. I call that number not once but twice and both times was told it wasn't a real number. So I decided to do a google search on them know and came on to a website about the 646-770-9771 of rampconf.com site and saw the number of 646-770-9771 that gave me some info which it show the phone carrier of PAETEC COMMUNICATIONS INC. NY and the phone type is a landline. So I decided to google PAETEC COMMUNICATIONS INC. NY to see what PAETEC COMMUNICATIONS INC. NY really was and it took me to this page. So am not sure what the heck is going on but please do NOT call me from a number that isn't a real number when you try to call back to which it got me wondering and thinking that the number that call me of 646-770-9771 might be a scammer which it is kind of weird that most of the scammers try to get a number closer to ur number to get you wondering what the heck is going on. So who ever is calling me from that 646-770-9771 STOP calling me cause the more you call me I will make sure I will write down each and everytime you call and I will file a real complaint against who ever using that 646-770-9771 if you cant even leave a message or a real number.

    I got a call from a unknown number and was told that I was one of 1000 picked for a $9200.00 grant from the government and that I had to call 718-732-0548. So I called and got a foreign guy who said his name was Austin and that I had to go get a gift card to receive this money from the government. I believe this is a scam. If anyone else has got a call like this please let me know. Thanks!

    I received the call from a heavily accented person stating that I have been granted a $9,200.00 grant and need to call 718-732-0548. Also provided an ID# that I am supposed to tell the party that answers when I call. I am not calling as I believe that this is a scam.

    Yesterday I received a call from a John Taylor, who had an accent, stating that my Gmail account was hacked and that I was sending requests for money. He wanted information from me since he was calling from gmail. I asked him if he was a hacker and how did I know that he wasn’t. He had my email address correct. The phone number he gave me was 315-506-4545, which is the number for Paetec Communications in Liverpool, NY. I’m sure it was a scam!
