I got a call from a guy, he said I was awarded 8000.00 in government grant funds, he even had some of my personal info, then he said all I had to do was give him my bank info for direct deposit (I refused of course) he then gave me a name and # for his supervisor and a ref# for my file. (Curious) I called she did not answer, but immediately called me back,(CID I guess). She verified the 8000.00, gave her gov emp ID#, then told me I had to go Western Union store and call her back so I could make a one time donation to one of their charities (my choice), said when I got there she would tell what to put on the form and wire 120.00 to the charity. I asked her why not send me 7880.00 and keep the 120.00. Her reply was "we are not allowed to take funds out of the checks", and a bunch of other garble, my reply was a dial tone.. Watch out folks.. The [***] people will do for your hard earned money.....

      Total scam.

These days, with over half of all people on the Do Not Call list, most strangers who call are probably running some sort of scam.

    This is still going on.
My friend got a call and spoke to Nancy Cooper.  I didn't get the name of the guy (but it was a guy) who made the initial offer for the 9000.00 grant.  Just needed a $250 withdrawal to verify the account!  So sad, I can't believe these people aren't in jail yet.
