for over 4 years now I have been getting phone calls for: Joseph Whipple, from mutliple collection agencies of which I have explained I DO NOT know the person they are looking for, I have been married since 1992 to the same man who is NOT Joseph Whipple, nor do I know this person.

I have asked that my ph# be removed from this persons file and to date have not complied...

Please advise.

Send them a letter, mailed certified, notifying them that they have been calling you repeatedly at your phone number <nnn-nnn-nnnn> asking for <other person>, who you do not know and who cannot be reached at your phone number, that you have told them to cease calling your number, yet they have continued to call in violation of FDCPA.  Notify them to cease calling.

After verifying their receipt of your letter (via the USPS website and certified number), if you receive additional calls, file a complaint with your state Attorney General.  You can also sue them for violating FDCPA through repeated harassing calls and voilating your cease communications request, up to $1000 statutory plus actual damages.  FDCPA allows courts to award attorney fees, so you may be able to find an attorney to take the case on contingency, or you can sue in your local small claims court.

I have been getting calls for a Larry Downing & Bruce Downing, who I do not know, and continue to get calls from many agencys, in which NCO of pa. I have called numerous times to tell them they have the wrong number, I spoke to a Bernadine at NCO 3 days ago, advised her they are calling the wrong number.  Today I came home from work and received another call from NCO in pa, I had another call for Larry Downing, I called again , asked for a supervisor , of course none available til tomorrow, and was told I needed to call back tomorrow, I did ask the rep if my conversation was noted, he said yes, however the number was not removed and there was nothing he could do about it, except remove the number now , he refused to have the supervisor call me back to confirm my number was in fact removed.
