I recently purchased a Whirlpool gas range and noticed that, when I use the oven, it gets extremely hot.  I called Whirlpool, and they arranged for a Technician to inspect it.  He brought an infrared gun, which detected 185 degrees on the outside case.  The technician and Whirlpool say that is within "normal operations."  However, according to UL and ANSI standards, since this is a painted metal case, the external temperature should be no more than 152 degrees.  When I called Whirlpool to see what would be done, I was told that, even though this is more than 30 degrees greater than UL and ANSI allows, the range is in compliance with those guidelines.   Am I the only one who understands there is a problem with this?
