I had purchased this Maytag washer brand new from Lowe's in Porterville,California back in February 2012. Eight Months later the transmission went out and this was fixed under warranty. Then another eight Months goes by and it stops spinning.I went to go talk to the Manager at Lowe's about my washer. The Manager insisted I call and complain that this Machine has not performed for a full year. He also mention this model does have problems and has seen them come back and knows about them getting reapaired a lot. I took his advice and called Maytag and the service department was quick to tell me I'm out of Warranty I then requested to talk to a supervisor because apparently he was not trained to listen to customers who pay for a Major Appliance name brand he should be proudly representing... MAYTAG!!, So I was switched over to a supervisor who gave me an option to either pay for the Labor or Pay for the Parts Like it was a game , so I picked Labor and still expressed my anger that I should not pay nothing at all.the next day I receive a call from Service Appliance out of Bakersfield (1-661-587-1300)letting me know what time the service man should arrive and also the agreement of Payment which they said I was responsible for the parts and the $85.00 service call. I then explained to them that is wrong I was given an option and I chose Labor only!!! Service Appliance told me I would have to get in touch with Maytag again and straighten out the work order.I then called Maytag and requested to speak to a Supervisor to help fix the Supervisors mistake on the work order they connected me to a Supervisor who said Yes there was a mix up on the work order and She will fix it and reassured me I was only Paying for the Labor nothing else again I expressed my anger that I still don't think I should be paying for nothing at all, But again I was told your washer is out of Warranty, so I felt some help is better than no help right?.... Wrong!! I get my second call from Service Appliance and they tell me a time when the service man will be here and I'm Liable for the Labor charge and the $85.00 service call I started laughing and explained to them I will have to call Maytag AGAIN!!! because I am only paying for Labor!!!. This was my third call to Maytag and I wanted the Manager NO Supervisors because I had two supervisors that had made mistakes on my work order for repair. I can tell the gentleman on the phone felt my anger and said he saw all the changes from the mistakes the supervisors made, he told me there was no Manager in the department at the time, I told him I will not Pay for anything this is way to many mistakes and he agreed and he spoke to a third Supervisor who said they will pay for everything ..Finally I feel there just might be some hope for this Major Appliance Brand....WRONG AGAIN !! now I;m dealing with Service Appliance who is getting paid by my good buddies from Maytag but can't seem to fix this Machine they came out August 28 My wife and my son was here and said the guy spent like 10 minutes and changed something from under the washer and left he did not even check to see if the cycles worked and remember they are traveling from Bakersfield to Porterville which is 100 miles easy round trip.So a day later the Washer starts to leak from underneath and that it won't spin again. So they send the Tech (Andrew) out and this time sits in front of my house in his Van for 10 whole minutes and leaves.. My wife calls me and tells me what happen and I call Service Appliance they said Andrew had to go get something he will be right back ... he comes back and my wife and my son explain to him what is going on and he looks under the washer and said I will have to order a Gasket and be back next week. I Am not a Service Appliances Technician But a Gasket is not going to make that Washer start spinning or make that electronic sensor start sensing correctly and stop making that clicking sound. So I wrote MAYTAG and said PLEASE DO NOT SEND ANYMORE TECHS OUT TO SERVICE THIS WASHER .THE AMOUNT OF MONEY YOUR COMPANY IS SPENDING ON THE WASHER IS A LOT. PUT THE MONEY TOWARDS GOOD USE LIKE TRAINING YOUR STAFF THAT CAN HELP CUSTOMERS ON THE PHONE,AND TRAIN YOUR SUPERVISORS SO THEY KNOW HOW TO MAKE A WORK ORDER RIGHT THE FIRST TIME, USE THIS MONEY TO MAKE A BETTER WASHER MACHINE SO NO ONE WILL HAVE TO EXPERIENCE WHAT I'M GOING THROUGH AND LAST BUT NOT LEAST INVEST IN SERVICE TECHS THAT KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING BECAUSE THEY ARE FIXING YOUR MAJOR BRAND, I SAY ALL THIS BECAUSE GROWING UP MAYTAG WAS THE BEST IT'S PART OF A CHILDHOOD MEMORY KNOWING YOUR PARENTS BOUGHT SOMETHING GOOD AND YOUR DECISION TO BUY SUCH A BIG NAME LIKE YOURS IS TRADITION SO DON'T RUIN MEMORIES LIKE YOUR RUINING MINE. Thank you for taking the time to read this and good Luck.
