Continue billing after the service was canceled

We stopped the service with AllTel yet they continue billing us. When I call them they acknowledge that the service is canceled but I continue to receive bill from them.  A week ago they started calling trying to collect on our "debt".

    I had a similiar problem with Alltel.  I wrote to the FCC on 3 occasions and so far Alltel has removed the $200 charge per phone line (early cancellation fee and late fees) and I am still fighting the excess monthly charges when the phones were cancelled.  Bill has been reduced from $560 down to $110.  I think it should be prorated and have agreed to pay a prorated amount.  I demanded to see any signed agreement where it says they can charge a full months charges when you cancel your accounts.  I also sent them a cease and desist letter for the 4-5 times a day automated calling. Good Luck.  This has ocurred from July 2007 to present.
