In door ice diapenser

Have bought Maytag products for 40 or so years. We do business with the store in my small town. Bought new fridge 1700.00 side by side. Who ever came up with the ice in the door is an idiot. Can not use ice dispencer. So what is the reason they can get away with it. Now after 1 1/2 yrs will have to buy another fridge. Won't be a Maytag or any one associated with company. I wish I could use my ice crushed if wanted. Maytag your ideas suck. The company that sold me the fridge didn't even know about the problem.
