Unsolicited call to cell phone

Received a call to my cell phone saying it was the second notice that my vehicle warranty was expired. I do not have a vehicle warranty. It said to extend the warranty, I should press one. I pressed one and waiting for a while before a live male with a heavy accent came on the line and said "Vehicle model and year." I asked him how he got this phone number and why were they calling me. The guy hung up. When you call the number back, it gives you a recording saying the number is not valid.

    Probably a "car warranty" scam.

They started showing up on June 5, and they have been very busy:

It is illegal under the Telemarketing Sales Rule to make unsolicited telemarketing calls to cell phones.  File a complaint with FTC.  You can do it easily on-line.

If your Home or Cell number IS listed on the Do-Not-Call list, I would suggest reporting these calls as Ongoing Disturbance/Nuisance Calls immediately.
