Mcafee has Poor Service, Rip Off!

I been loyal to Mcafee and continuously paying their antivirus services but what a heck, I had problem with my computer caused by viruses and Mcafee was not able to detect and clean it, a free antivirus had helped me with this problem going on since last year. When I finally decided to call their tech support and asked question WHY? My God their tech support representative were just reading their scripts and don't know how to explain the reason behind my problem, just telling me to update my anti virus, what the hell! I told them many times that I updated it always. They will get your money but won’t give you quality service worth your paying them.

    your right--these calls to India are nuts---they dont care---Ive been without protcetion for over 4 days now--they only follow scripts--cant help--WARNING DONT GET MCAFEE ---THEY DONT CARE ABOUT CUSTOMERS !!!!

      Same here my nightmare has been going on for two weeks now.Somehow we lost the keycode,and you would think the way I was treated that I stole it from target.First off if I had stole it I would have stolen a better product.Everyday back and forth with these indian people.Same questions same result everytime. I did every thing they told me to do and MaAfee has yet to give me a key code.Yesterday I went out and spent ANOTHER 65.00 on Norton,and going to my bank monday to get my money back.(stop payment)They blow chunks.My main [***] was an [***] named william.Everytime we spoke after going through the story he would say "may I call you Carol" last time I said NO!!!  Please tell me what the teleprompter say's now!!! Ok Mrs Acosta,NO not my name either,It's Jackson if you're Nasty!!!I laughed a lil bit and hung up.I will get my money back.

    Macafee customer service and tech support is the worst nightmare ever.  Customer support and tech services are all in India and they do not care if you have a problem.  Finally found the United States corporate office phone number on the internet and after documenting my problem, they sent me back to tech support and the whole goat rope started again.  After spending hours on the phone with customer service and tech service, nothing was ever resolved.  It appears that they are following a script and can't comprehend anything that doesn't fit there.  I will NEVER buy a Macafee product again.

      True indeed!! Mcafee customer service sucks!! I believe, mcafee hired these so call tech supporters so that they can keep the customer off there backs with complaint's! But as I tell the people and friends that I know on facebook, and other places, don't buy mcafee you'll regred'ed later on. There custormer services is riddle with Indians who don't or can't help you with a problem, with there security software. They, are good in giving you the round around though!! " Oh! I don't know that, but let me transfer you to another tech who can help you, ok? turns out that one can't help you either" or they'll put you on hold, and hope you go away!! they did it to me, and a female at that!  and this is Eduardo menendez, they know me! I would tell anybody who is smart enough, don't buy MacAfee. You'll be sorry!!

    I guess Dell is an Indian company that is a scam like the countries in African who offer millions if you give them your Social Security number. Not only did Dell rip me off they told me to get McAfee when it didn't work on my last computer. Its always your computer has a virus pay us $200 dollars and we will remove it. Its supposed to be an anti-virus program but all it is is a phone number where they charge to remove each virus. The point is I called Dell because my new computer was loaded with viruses.I am going to replace McAfee with Norton 360. Remember in American we are being ripped off because the Republican won't allow the government to protect us.

    i have been using mcafee for a couple of years paying them good money just before xmas i got a virus on my PC and mcafee couldnt get rid of it. i contact mcafee direct and speak to tech support now get this they wanted £60.00 GB of me for the privilage of removing a virus their anti virus  software should have detected and removed. because i had lost control of my PC i had no option but to pay them what a rip off. good work if you can get it!

    How about this one- I discontinued McAfee about two years ago. And I uninstalled/deleted all McAfee that I could find. Suddenly, out of the blue, I get the following message when trying to access a photo sent by someone I know- “BLOCKED FILE ALERT A file has been blocked due to ADP PolicyContext IMG_6433.MOV  See your system administrator for further information. Copyright 1999-2007 McAfee, Inc.All Rights Reserved.httpwww.mcafee.com "
    McAfee says they will research and remove this problem for $ 39.99.
    Does anyone have a clue how to fix this myself ?

    Harry - download and install http://download.mcafee.com/products/licensed/cust_support_patches/MCPR.exe, which should allow you to remove and completely uninstall all McAfee products.

    Checked my bank acct today, and guess what, McAfee took money out. Funny, I have been expired with them for awhile. Emailed them thinking it would be a easy fix. ha ha.  They send me back a number to call, called guess what, India maybe. Nothing wrong with India but I want someone in the US, unless India took my money. I asked the gentleman for a US number he told me he did not have one. After 20 mins. he finally after I got mad connected me to someone in the US, Well, let's just say as a supervisor he pretty mutch told me he had no idea how to pay the money back to. ha ha. Listen McAfee people it's easy really " it's called customer service not BS. If I took someone's money it's theft isn't it? Anyway calling bank in AM. disputing it..

    I have been talking with McAfee techs for over 4 days regarding their automatic updates which are causing my computer to run slow and freeze.  The "McAfee On-Access Scanning Service" starts running  immediate, eating a large portion of my computer's memory resources, to within 20-30 minutes to have eaten up 370,000 K+,  causing a major computer freeze....100% memory usage is devoted to the McAfee On-Access Scanning Service.  (To see whether this is happening to you, open your task master, click on the Process tab, go down to the bottom left and check the box that says "Show process from all users.")

    After allowing 5 different (Level 2) techs total access to my computer, 7 different removal and re-installations of McAfee, downloading and leaving 8 different exe programs on my desktop, the tech installed a 'beta' McAfee onto my computer.  When he finished the BETA installation, all types of alerts and virsus icons flashed all over my computer screen.  When I questioned what he was doing, the tech covered my screen, and told me that he was running tests...that was his job, not to worry.   I then questioned why he put a BETA McAfee on my computer since apparently the techs aren't testing their Updates before placing them on our computers, and I certainly don't want to the one who has to test their BETA McAfee for them!   The tech said ok, he would remove it.  When it was removed, I told the tech that I needed to go and shut down my computer.  

    Today, I tried to call Customer Service in the USA to get a refund and also complain about their terrible tech support.  Instead, their listed phone number connects you to McAfee in India.  When I questioned them, I was  told me that there wasn't a customer service department in the USA.  Since I was having a hard time understanding the representative, I hung up and thought I would just write to McAfee.  I went to their website to get an address, and while looking over their list of directors, I saw a phone number that I thought was in the USA....tried that number....and reached Customer Service in the Philippines!  While the lady was very nice, helpful, and spoke English,  I suddenly didn't even care anymore.  What has happened to USA technology?  If McAfee can not have a Customer Service department that you can understand and located in the USA, then I can save my money and just download Microsoft Security Essential: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/security-essentials-download
    which is now provided by Microsoft and is free!

    My advice....do not waste your money on McAfee.

    We have a business account with McAfee and still receive horrible support every time I phone them. The latest issue, I just want to increase our desktops licence that is all. I cannot do it on their site because their servers are down. Asking them to just add the licence to my account and bill us should be simple right. No, phone this number (Sales), they do not pick up and get disconnected 4 times, then phone reception, and then they put you through to the original support desk you phoned originally..... We are a corporate business, I need the licence now. I might as well be speaking to a wall.

    Do not waste your time with McAfee.

    I have lost all my computer systems thanks to McAfee not stopping a Liam x crus and not willing to do anything about it without a payment of £50 ...what have I been paying for with my subscription then.

    I had McAfee for years and my computer got a "locker" virus. I lost most of the photos and documents in the computer including the McAfee. Contacting McAfee they were unable to replace their product and refused to provide a refund. I will NEVER use McAfee again and would never recommend the product. The technical department was a joke and the customer service worse. Don't use McAfee.

    MacAfee was the worse security software company I have ever used. Told me my computer was loaded with hackers and wanted $300.00 more to fix,  I took the software back where I bought it and exchanged for the Norton Security Absolutely no[problems . Works perfect I was on the computer for hours with McAfee. What a joke Very upsetting

    Biggest con ever. Passed from unless useless 'adviser' to another, all asking the same ridiculous questions. I finally lost it with them today and really hope that all calls are recorded.

    I really believe that MacAfee is a nightmare virus itself.  Horrible trouble since day one.  they charged me an awful price to start with and my subscription is far from up and wham!! in big letters your computer isn't protected.  It is very frightening to say the least.  Something has to be done,!  I deleted their product  and I will have to call my bank so that they don't take money from my account.  They already stole millions from honest citizens.   I just pray that they get caught before too many other people get sucked into this nightmare.  I am going to get a new provider.  I would like to hear from anyone else who was ripped off from this hideous company.   AnnMarie

    Just spent three hours in contact with Mcafee, all I wanted to do was cancel the auto renewal. Customer service was the worst most useless and rude I have experienced. Only got a result by reporting them to my bank who will write to Mcafee informing them that if another attempt to collect payment they will be fined by my bank! Good old Barclays! So come on Mcafee, listen to your customers while you still have some! Your service is the worst. An ex Mcafee survivor😁
