Scam! Hang up!  Don't stay on the phone line with any rep from 411yplist.com!!!
Sept 19, 2013, a rep from this so called company made an unsolicited call to our business offering an on-line yellow page listing for $6.99/per year. Sounded too good to be true so I asked him to send me info. He verified my mailing, e-mail and phone #'s.  Apparently my answering "yes" to verify this info got us signed up with their services. The service was not for $6.99/year as I found out when they sent me a confirmation e-mail from Mark Jones, Senior Account Resolution Specialist, with an invoice attached in the amount of $699.99/yr!!!
On Sept 23, 2013  I replied to that e-mail with a request to cancel processing of any online listing for our business.  I received NO response. I sent a total of 3 replies and received no responses.  I also called the 800 # provided (800-906-6499) and rep (Mark Jones) started arguing right away stating I was under a verbal contract and will have to pay $699.99 to cancel the service.  He offered to reduce it to $400.  I said NO...NO...NO! and hung up.
They are trying to intimidate people into paying anything over the phone and then they would have their credit card info. Beware!

I agree - this is a SCAM!  Don't send them anything OR give them any credit card info!! I reported this company to the FTC because they were trying to get our company to send them $500.00 for a listing that didn't exist on their website.  Bill, the harassing representative, was very insistent on getting a credit card payment or a PayPal payment which made me very suspicious!!  I asked him to fax me an invoice.  They faxed me an invoice which didn't show when the listing was effective or even showing the actual listing.   When I told the rep that we didn't have a listing on their website, he directed me to look at www.yellowpages.com which is NOT associated with this company at all.  I faxed www.yellowpages.com a copy of the invoice and they never heard of this company and told me our listing was free anyway.  DO NOT SEND THEM MONEY OR GIVE THEM A CREDIT CARD - HANG UP ON THEM AND TELL THEM YOU WILL REPORT THIS TO THE FEDERAL TRADE COMMISSION !!!

Beware of this scam!  My harassment came from one Bryan Bishop.  He just called telling me that I need to "re-cancel" this because his company "missed the deadline" of cancelling the first time.  What a scam - unbelievable.  They also attempted to trick us into paying $699 for a year on their fake website.  Do not give them any credit information of any kind.  I have already filed a complaint with Better Business Bureau but based on these reviews will file a complaint with the FTC as well.

I've been getting 2 - 3 calls weekly from 411yplist trying to CLOSE our account, (that never existed in the first place). While on the phone with BOB, then BILL then ROGER I went on their website to see if we were on it. We were not and I told him we were not listed on the site he said he will have to check on that and hung up. I have asked him BILL,ROGER,BOB to fax me a invoice and he said he would ,but to this day I have never gotten one. This is a scam pure and simple. All they want is to get you to say "YES" and a credit card number.

I just received one of these calls. They wanted me to pay PayPal $800 for a service my company made an agreement with over the phone with in 2011 for advertising our company. Oh but the deal that we supposedly agreed to was actually $3000 now but if we would pay through PayPal they would let us get by with an $800 bill?! They wanted us to pay PayPal and even sent an invoice to our email address so no one would be getting our personal information. It had to be paid with within 24 hours or else we would have to pay the $3000, all for a deal that we never had to begin with over the phone or any other way. Yes please beware this is a scam!! We made no such agreement!!

Our company received a faxed invoice in the amount of $699.00 for on-line services.  After several attempts to contact this company, we received a call from them, insisting that they had a recording of a verbal agreement for their services.  Upon further research it was discovered that the state of North Dakota had a cease and desist order against them for engaging in deceptive business practices by operating "business invoice" scams.  It would appear that other states need to follow North Dakota's lead to help prevent such scams!

This is a fraudulent billing scam.. replies to Sam
It's commonly run by cross-boarder scammers, often out of Montreal Canada.  The connection of these scams to Montreal is so well known that they may also use mail drops in various US cities to look "legitimate" (often Regus "virtual office" sites).

They typically call attempting to reach anyone (maybe even the night janitor), "to confirm your information" so it sounds innocuous. They attempt to get some parts icluding "Yes", that they can edit into another script so it sounds like an "agreement", then they start demanding payment, often sending "invoices" by FAX to avoid USPS, since the Postal Inspectors are on to them.

They also may use a sleazy "collection agency" out of New Jersey.

It's a total scam, and is well known to BBB,  FTC and Attorneys General.  FTC has sued several, working with Canadian authorities periodically to shut them down.

They aren't going to "sue" or "prosecute you for fraud", nor will they "damage your credit".  They are looking for suckers.  Ignore them.

I have received this call again today.  After dealing with complete morons who think I am a child, I have repeatedly told them to not call again or I would report them to the FTC.  I wonder if they will call again tomorrow after filing a report today?  Hopefully they will grow up and find a real job, they will not be getting my hard earned money!
