Scam! Hang up! Don't stay on the phone line with any rep from 411yplist.com!!!
Sept 19, 2013, a rep from this so called company made an unsolicited call to our business offering an on-line yellow page listing for $6.99/per year. Sounded too good to be true so I asked him to send me info. He verified my mailing, e-mail and phone #'s. Apparently my answering "yes" to verify this info got us signed up with their services. The service was not for $6.99/year as I found out when they sent me a confirmation e-mail from Mark Jones, Senior Account Resolution Specialist, with an invoice attached in the amount of $699.99/yr!!!
On Sept 23, 2013 I replied to that e-mail with a request to cancel processing of any online listing for our business. I received NO response. I sent a total of 3 replies and received no responses. I also called the 800 # provided (800-906-6499) and rep (Mark Jones) started arguing right away stating I was under a verbal contract and will have to pay $699.99 to cancel the service. He offered to reduce it to $400. I said NO...NO...NO! and hung up.
They are trying to intimidate people into paying anything over the phone and then they would have their credit card info. Beware!

They typically call attempting to reach anyone (maybe even the night janitor), "to confirm your information" so it sounds innocuous. They attempt to get some parts icluding "Yes", that they can edit into another script so it sounds like an "agreement", then they start demanding payment, often sending "invoices" by FAX to avoid USPS, since the Postal Inspectors are on to them.
They also may use a sleazy "collection agency" out of New Jersey.
It's a total scam, and is well known to BBB, FTC and Attorneys General. FTC has sued several, working with Canadian authorities periodically to shut them down.
They aren't going to "sue" or "prosecute you for fraud", nor will they "damage your credit". They are looking for suckers. Ignore them.
