Subject : Shifting of House hold goods from Bhubneshwar to Delhi.
Sir,
I made an online request with Agarwal Packers & Movers for transfer of my household materials from Bhubneshwar to Delhi. This site came to my notice by searching through google. The site address which came first on the page was opened and online request was made. A gentleman and a lady enquired about my booking. A person named Shri Manjeet Punia called me from Bhubneshwar and wanted to visit home for assessment of items.
Mr. Manjeet Punia along with another person made inventory. An estimate for Rs. 59,036/- was given on 22.06.2013. I made an enquiry with Mr. Punia about transport and was informed by Mr. Punia the following :
1. My materials will be transported by dedicated container truck.
2. It will take 5 days to deliver the goods. The truck number, driver number and movements details will be informed to me.
3. My electrical appliances like AC, Acquaguard and Gyser will be removed at Bhubneshwar and fitted at Delhi for a charge of Rs. 5600/-.
4. I have to pay Rs. 1000/- as token of advance.
5. My potted plants will be transported free (without charge) with safety.
He gave me the estimate and we decided to pack on 30th June, 2013. I requested to start on 2nd July, 2013 due to some other engagement. The estimate given by Manjeet Punia (9337838210) was for Rs. 59,036/- that included Rs. 5,600/- for dismantling of electronic items. The workers of your company took three days from 2nd to 4th July to carry out the job. During the packing process I observed following non-compliance of the commitment made :
1. The workers took lot of time in packing as they use to come after 11.30 AM and go back to 6.30 PM. They did not come with a bigger container instead the material was lifted in a small canter in two-three trips to your godown
2. I felt sad to see the plight of the workers who were not having uniforms and safety gadgets. Almost all of them used to smoke beedi and take time off for the purpose indicating that the health awareness among the workers is negligible.
3. The goods were taken in small container everyday and on last day i.e 4th July the workers loaded more than 30 potted plants of very high ecological value which I have raised since last 15 years. The tuber plants and leafy plants were kept in a polythene and placed in a red 200 Ltr. Capacity plastic container for safety. These plants were taken away from my house.
4. The consigner copy was given to me with GC No. 4328013 dated 04.07.2013.
5. I visited your office at Bhubneshwar on 5th July, 2013 after complete evacuation of my materials on 4th evening and wanted to see the goods and the container, but I was told that a truck bearing AP No. has already left (AP 29T1010). Mr. Chaudhary and other executives did not provide me the drivers Moblie numbers and details. The information given by the Bhubneshwar office was not correct.
6. I kept on calling Bhubneshwar office and Mr. Reddy Saheb of Hyderabad who is the incharge of operation as I was told (09391773525; 040-39818857) to enquire about my goods. I was told that it will take minimum 7 days to reach to Delhi. Most of my calls subsequently were ignored and not attended as I wanted to know about the transit status of the truck and the safety of the goods. The goods were kept in a Ghaziabad Godown for two days as I was informed by Mr. Charanjeet and Mr. Pawan Sharma of your Company. My calling to Mr. Sunil Chauhan has not yielded any result as he never responded to my calls.
7. Mr. Kuldeep Sharma was contacted by me and he could not be of any help for two days to arrange for the goods to reach to my house in Delhi. Most of my calls were not attended. The workers took 2 days to unload and unpack the materials. However, dozen of packets remained unpacked after they left. I was told that since heavy damage is there, the assessment of damage will be done by an executive who will report to my house along with some workers and unpacking of remaining boxes will be done during that time. The workers insist for tips indicating that they are poorly paid and not well-treated as a cultured corporate employee. I also understand that they are not covered in majority of cases under ESI and EPF Schemes. Otherwise, they would have a decent working culture.
8. During this period, Mr. Reddy, Mr. Kuldeep Sharma and Mr. Manjeet Punia and Mr. Kuldeep of Bhubneshwar tried their best to avoid my calls and distanced themselves from solving the issues.
Kindly be informed that my goods have been damaged extensively. I provide list below which have been seen by Mr. Prem, Assessment Executive of your company :
1. Sewing Machine is totally damaged and out of order for operation.
2. All show pieces in glass frame are totally broken.
3. TV Trolly is fully damaged with top and base plate separated from the frame.
4. Two showcases on wooden and one modular totally broken along with the glass.
5. Three steel almirah damaged with legs totally damaged and door panels tilted fully.
6. Crockery boxes when opened by workers were having only broken glasses and ceramic utensils.
7. Two flower pots of decorated category fully damaged.
8. One wooden box is cut and broken from the top lid with chances of inserting the hand easily inside and take out the material which included show pieces new curtains and decorative items. This cannot be verified by me as articles were small and not counted.
9. All the wooden chairs, tables including dining chair and tables have been disfigured by irresponsible way of handling. Dining table top has cracked which has not been seen and noted by Mr. Prem, Assessment Executive. He has not taken my signature in his survey report given to me.
10. The dismantling of only two AC was done by M/s. Agarwal Packers & Movers at Bhubneshwar and fitting of only two ACs was done at Delhi. The Acquaguard and Gyser were not dismantled and fitted, therefore, my money of Rs. 5,600/- has to be returned on proportionate basis as that was for the Acquaguard and Gyser also.
11. My plastic container with plants and all potted plants have not been delivered. I suspect that since the plants were of high quality and precious, these have been sold into the market instead of delivering at my place to earn money. This has been repeatedly reminded to Bhubneshwar Office, Mr. Reddy and Mr. Kuldeep Sharma, but of no investigation and response by them.
12. Most of the opened packets are still lying as waste to be taken away by your company.
I paid Rs. 62,000/- in advance before the goods moved from Bhubneshwar which included Rs. 6,000/- as insurance charges. It was insisted that I should give cheque in the name of DRS DILIP ROAD LINES PRIVATE LIMITED, but I insisted since the estimate was given by Agarwal Packers & Movers, I should issue the cheque in the name of the later. Then, they talked to their office and accepted. This is not done. There is absolutely no response and follow up about the damages and the company’s liability towards these damages from any of your executives till date. This is unbecoming conduct of a Corporate Executive in dealing with such cases. The customers are placed at a very low status even below the your middle and low level executives.
I have huge disappointment and several incidences during 15 days of agony while dealing with Agarwal Packers & Movers. I have made only observations which came immediately in my mind today as I do not want to remember the relationship during goods transport, I had with Agarwal Packers & Movers. Your immediate intervention in my case and future follow up to improve upon your system including changing the policies to reach to customer satisfaction level is needed. I may be intimated of your action please. I am informed that another officer of my Ministry had also engaged the other group with the similar name in Bhubneshwar for transporting his goods to Delhi on the same day but the work was completed in one and half days and the truck reported to his house in Delhi three days before my goods and all goods were safe and he had a apparently relatively pleasing experience. This is for your information.
Yours faithfully

Dear Mr Singh
Please refer my email sent to you. There is no response from the company to resolve the issues. Due to bad management of my goods during transport, a lot of my items have been damaged and broken. There is absolutely no track of my plants and plastic container with tubers and plants from the company as to where these have been lost/kept . I fail to understand why there is so much silence from the side of your executives to accept the failure and resolve the issues. my article were insured also,I understand, with clear policy papers for which I paid Rs . 6000/-.
Please be informed that I should not be prompted, by ignoring my issues, to go for a legal course or raise these issues in public domain.
I hope you will intervene in the matter.
