I wish I knew the answer to that ! On the internet anyone can subscribed to what's called "temporary phone numbers" (look it up- really!) it's like a leaky boat with a thousand holes in it- which one do u plug first ! ? Look up the phone number on the internet- I do that with all calls I do not recognized just so I know who and what they are, stay informed is best policy and fight fire with fire. Extreme measure is request an unregistered phone # but that is also hurtful to those you really do want contact with. It's the world we live in today folks unfortunately. My pal in Jamaica @ 876 360 8136 probably doesn't like me very much right now...too bad..I would have a "welcome gift" for him if he would show his face like a real man. It has two barrels and is lethal at close range!

We just got a call from POTS phone JM saying the caller was from the Treasury Dept. and that we had won a contest. He was going to send us $500K. Of course, it was a scam. How do we stop this?

They have another number now. 876-369-1616. Rude to say the least. Many of us want to know how to stop this and we're even on the do-not-call list. Why do these people get away with this??? He's called 3x's today so far.

This morning at 8:57am, PDT, I received a phone call from some man with an Hispanic sounding accent and claiming that I had won $1.5M along with a new white Mercedes. He said that he could deliver the money to me this afternoon. I told him this was "[***]" to which he responded that this is not "[***]" and sort of chuckled. He asked if I ever heard of the Price Is Right or something like that. Of course I had and I also knew that they don't call and offer you money. I just hung up on this idiot as I knew it was a phone scam.
I see where many people have received similar calls from an 876 area code (876-838-2435) which is, apparently, somewhere in Jamaica and outside of any U.S. jurisdiction over such matters. These calls are from criminals preying upon the elderly and its' too bad our rather useless liberal government cannot take action on this type of activity instead of playing games with the inept UN and Cuba. I'd just love to run into one of these guys...in person. They'd find out real fast what the front end of an FN 9mm looked like and, thereafter, what Hell looks like. Scams and frustrating solicitation calls are becoming the rule in this country rather than the exception and no one seems to be doing anything about it. Placing your phone on a DNC list, like most things involving our government these days, is practically useless.
They keep calling! 876-366-9870 POTS JM. I did not answer and will not answer! Can they be reported to FBI or FTC?

I received a phone call today from 876-837-8245. He called my company's phone line. I answered with my name, which I repeated for him after he asked. He then told me that I had a very sexy voice and that he wanted to meet up later. I told him "No thank you." He then proceeded to explain how "we spoke in his car for hours before and how I told him to call me."
What was creepy was that he described what kind of truck I drove....

a refreshing angle on scam calls said he was from Publishers Clearing House, I said I wasn't interested, at that point he cussed me used f--k profusely told me he was going to take 40,000 out of my bank account and told me he was going to put a bomb in my car. Threats of sexual harrassment lol. Now that was new. 1-876-365-9145 POTS Phone JM

Got a call at midnight from this person saying they were a disgruntled publishers clearing house employee, said they would be calling back in the morning. My roommate was irate at the person, demanding to have his questions answered, and the caller was belligerent. After 10 minutes and being told that if they called back we would peruse legal action against them they hung up.

We got a phone call from one of these idiots last week. He was asking for my Grandmother. When I asked what is this about, he said F*ck you and we will bomb your house. Now they just called again.....yelling at my Grandma on the phone. Why should we have to deal with such verbal abuse?

I run a business. And these fools call on an average 17 times a day. This is crazy. The phone company said they cannot block all 876 numbers. They get rude and threatening etc. this needs to stop. I even called the police who couldn't do much. As well as the attorney general of my state. Enough is enough.

At first it was hilarious but now it is just getting sick... Calling from Jamaica? this must be costing this guy a "mint"? or he probably steals other people's numbers somehow? His sophistication leaves a lot to be desired and I think he or "they" need help badly. a long walk off a short pier would do nicely.
