Flavor Wave SCAM

My 92 year old mother ordered a FlavorWave oven from Thane after seeing their infomercial. She received the oven but did not receive the $59.85 Flavor Wave Chef's Kit that she ordered with it. They charged her an outrageous $39.90 for shipping also. I called Thane on her behalf and they said that they packed the chef's kit with the oven. They did not. I checked all the packaging and it was not there. They said that she would have to pursue a claim with the post office. They slyly billed her credit card for $69 and some change only and invoiced her for the remaining $132.50 which I assume they will bill to her credit card later. This rendered me unable to get any redress from her credit card company. I will be a thousand miles away and unable to take care of this by the time the second billing arrives. What a disgusting scam on an elderly woman.

Take your mother's information down and tell her to call you when her second bill comes in. Make sure she gives you authorization to handle the situation with her credit card company. File a dispute over the charges with the credit card company and then write a letter to her State Attorney General on her behalf informing them of what the company has done to your mother.
I have done this myself and gotten my money back.
I hope this information helps you and anyone else that sees it.
the machine it burned out with a heavy electric odor coming out of the
machine. I called the company, and they issue a return authorization because I had it less than 30 days. They would not refund the entire price they charged me, and it will cost me to ship it back. With these terms I will have almost $40 dollars in shipping cost with nothing to show for it.
My opinion is all things have changed; do not buy over the internet as it will cost you dearly if an issue arises with repeat shipping costs.
Buy locally.
Why???
It seams I will dispute transaction.
