My husband, two children (age 2 and 4 years old) and I were traveling from Canada to England and Scotland for vacation from June 16 – 30, 2012. We rented vehicles from your company for the entire trip in both countries.

On June 23, 2012, we dropped off our rental vehicle at the Europcar terminal at Heathrow Airport in London. We took a shuttle bus provided by your company to Terminal 1 to get our flight to Edinburgh, Scotland.

My husband secured our car seats and luggage. The Europcar employee moved our baggage after it had been secured. He proceeded to drive to Terminal 1 but drove quite erratically in our opinion. During one quick turn, all our luggage and car seats fell off the luggage shelf and crashed into the walls of the moving vehicle. He continued to drive in such an unsafe manner to the Terminal without stopping. Several passengers commented that someone could have been injured. I was concerned about this travelling with my children.

As soon as we stopped, I checked our luggage and our camera was involved in the accident. I could see that the lens had been snapped and the shield cracked. I immediately asked for the driver’s name, identification badge and name of his supervisor. He refused to provide this information and attempted to leave. I again asked for his information and he refused. Eventually with reluctance, he scribbled his last name and first two initials on a piece of paper which I provided as he claimed to have none. The second letter is illegible. On my third request, he again refused to show identification. My husband had to take a photo of the license plate of the Europcar vehicle as he refused also to provide it.

We entered the terminal and checked in for our flights. There was no Europcar representative available in the immediate area where we were checking in or boarding our flight. We could not file a police report as we would have missed our flight and of course, we are travelling with two young children.

The driver’s name is P. Abbi with license plate LN61UWV and the event took place at 11:15am.

My husband and I were extremely upset by the incident. We had to take our camera for repairs in Edinburgh which cost us 94.99 British pounds. We are seeking reimbursement and would like to make a formal complaint. I have attached my receipts.
