My 3 year old ceiling fan disconnected from the wires and came crashing to the floor last night for no apparent reason. Glass everywhere, hardwood floors trashed, fan trashed... scared me to death!
It was mounted in my office right above my desk and head. Luckily I was out of the room when it let go. The canopy is still attached to the ceiling but the fan was destroyed. We have the same fan above our bed... needless to say, I won't be turning the fan on any time soon.
This seems like a defective product to me.
