Yeah had call from a 876 area code, claiming sweepstakes to, " give back to the community". As stated for a million dollars we were to be awarded this money and as a way to receive the funds we were to pay $376 and they would aid us by paying off our credit card then we could get a cash advance and transfer the $3give you a real bank account number accoma76 via Western Union. Hello what a fraud!!
Here is what I know, call came from Jamaica from a David Anderson( which I see all over this website for complaints). Additionally they without a doubt,  have a real account accompanied with a routing number. The trick is there payment to your card is just a pending payment that your credit company only verifies as a real account at time of payment funds transfer in some case hours or even two days later.  Western Union payment you make is automatic and once you tell the scammers you have paid and give confirmation number your supposed payment on your card never completes!!!!!!!!!! Please everyone I have read the sad stories herein and I hope and pray this post helps you in time. God Bless.

This scheme is showing up in other scams
For instance, it's been reported recently with Indian "advance fee" loan scams.  It's basically equivalent to the old "Nigerian check" scams:  get sent a fake check for more than some "sale", deposit it and send them back the difference, then get stuck when the check is bounces, maybe weeks later if it's a forged check on someone's else's account.

    It's always risky..
to transfer money out of your account to some stranger, even when they've transferred more money into it.  Your transfer is real, as are your losses, even if their transfer is fraudulent.  don't accept checks or transfers for payment for something above what was agreed, to then send some amount back, pay for "delivery", or whatever.  Same goes for some "loan cramming" scams that deposit money into your account without authorization.

You don't know where that money came from.  It could be from the last scam victim, who can get it back from you even if they couldn't get it back from the scammers.  NEVER transfer "accidentally deposited" money back.  Let them reverse the transfer as a "mistake", or let the bank fix the "mistake", and then shut down the account.

Received a call today 10-24-2017 from Jamaica, as well. A guy with a really strong accent told me all about my winnings. Said I won second place 20 million. Same as other comments. They wanted $2000 as transfer fee to get the money. They even gave me a Bank of America number to verify that they had a certified check for 20 million in my name. I call it and it sound  real but too many weird things like different accents depending which button you push. I'm sure its a SCAM. Beware and don't give any personal info!!!!!!!!!

DO NOT REPEAT, DO NOT FALL FOR THIS SCAM!!!!!!  THANK GOD WE DID NOT SEND ANY MONEY. I called Publisher's Clearing House fraud section and reported this outfit (Silver Star Enterprises) and PCH was only too happy to take my information. They also filed a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission. If you get a call telling you you've won HANG UP!  Don't fall for his, it is a SCAM!!!!!!!  P.C. H. DOES NOT ANNOUNCE WINNERS BY PHONE, THE ONLY  NOTICE THEY GIVE IS WHEN THEY SHOW UP AT YOUR FRONT DOOR.

I got a call today from Jamaica +1-876-491-3893, David Marshall (his "real" name, I'm sure 🤣), with Silver Star Enterprise.
He told me I won 2.6 million dollars and a 2020 Mercedes, and he wanted to know what color car I wanted! He gave me a check number, and a phone number to call for claims. How I wish it was true, but I know better better. 😟

Here I am, an evacuee from a major forest fire in Oregon, and I receive a call from David Hashman telling me I won $7 million.  All I have to do is send a check for $315 to Renaldo Ferguson and they will come to the evacuation site to give me my money.  The guy lives about 10 miles from where I am and he hasn't heard about the wildfires.  Hmm, you can hardly breathe over here because of the smoke.  I knew right away it was a scam, but I let him keep talking, hoping to get more information from him.  Problem is, I don't know who to report this scam to.  The company is Silver Star Enterprise.  The last time I got a call like this I told them I knew it was a scam and they harassed me for weeks saying horrible disgusting things.
