Bad Check Scams
Complaint
Frustrated
Country: United States
A person from NCS has been harassing my husbands work (from payroll to front office to family) this morning. Called his cell phone 6 times in a row. When he finally answered the man was aggressive and threatening police action on bad checks. I spoke with the Attorney Generals hotline in our state and they said this has scam written all over it. They said these scams are most definitely related to an online payday loan application that was done over a year ago. They said file a complaint, do not answer calls, do not give out information and to inform employer of the scam. I feel invaded and frustrated because I am very aware of our finances and the fact that in a desperate moment my husband applied for a payday loan it is causing this much headache. Thanks goodness his employer is understanding and trust this is a scam. Please file complaints and review the debt collections laws in your state. It is very clear in ours what a collections company can do and not do. Good Luck to whomever is going through this. I felt so much better knowing we are not alone.

They typically get information on victims from sleazy or fake "payday loan" websites.
There is no "debt", and this isn't a "collection agency", just criminals running a phone extortion racket.
If they have thick accents, they are probably Indian swindlers.
