Dear apple and Mobily customer care support team,
My name is Mohamed Saied, I’m a branch manager at a multinational bank in my country Egypt, with more than ten years of experience in retail industry, beside being a big fan of apple products for years, I had iPhone models (3g, 3gs, 4&5), Mac Pro and a couple of iPods.
Recently I had a problem related to my iPhone 5 which I bought on the 2nd of October 2013 from Etihad Etisalat consortium (Mobily company) from Saudi Arabia.
The problem is that two weeks ago there a yellow spot appeared on my iPhone's screen. After referring back to apple-authorized reseller in Egypt; they informed me to send it to Mobily as it is still under warranty. I sent the mentioned i phone by a shipment courier company with cost of 80$ to a friend of mine in Saudi Arabia.
My friend went yesterday on the 21th of August to Mobily store with TSC and spoke to agent (Mohammed Jabr) who sent a report to apple about the issue of my iPhone Serial # F17KWCLJDTWF and the defect “without even getting an idea about its condition”.
Apple refused to replace it but they can accepted to replace with exchange price of 340$. Mobily said the defect was made due to a pressure made by me, although my iPhone is in an excellent condition without even a single scratch – no liquid damage – no modifications - not open till date and still under warranty plus I paid 160$ cost of sending it and getting it back.
I wonder how apple can take such a decision without even looking at the mobile device. I’m very irritated especially after having purchased several apple devices I wasn't extended a courtesy of a loyal customer, something rather than "too bad, its out of our hands”.
I was so frustrated when my friend informed me about apple's feedback
I am thinking to get rid of all my apple products , to get another brand .I will inform all my friends, my colleagues about what happen to know about how apple company dealing with their customers, how they make their customers satisfied.
I am thinking seriously to seek help from consumer protection agencies in USA and KSA, get rid of all my apple products, switch to another brand and to inform all my friends, my colleagues and on social media about what happened to me; so that they know how apple treats their loyal customers.
Although I’d really prefer to resolve the problem by, repairing or even by exchanging my device because apple is still the closest brand to my heart.
