I'm not really sure what they're after but they called me at work and asked to speak to the owner or office manager. I'm the office manager. They said that our company was going to featured next month on their search engine and they just wanted to confirm the basic information. They confirmed company name, address, and type of business. After that he asked for my name "for their records of who they spoke with". Then they asked if I was the one that made the business decisions. That's when I started getting suspicious. I said no and they wanted to know who did. I told him that the owner did but he was unavailable at the moment. He said he'd try back later. I guess my question is what are they really after and can the info I gave them be used to scam us? Oh, and the phone number was 408-400-0095.

They appear to be selling some "government grant package", or "internet business" package, with indications they may cross over into other shady promotions.
The script you outline is similar to a common business directory or internet promotion scam often played on small businesses, often involving false claims that the business has signed up for and agreed to pay for some "service", based on a call "to confirm your information". If they are engaged in this con, the next step is to follow up with an "invoice" for whatever you didn't order, and then threaten credit damage if you don't pay.
If this happens, your best response is to file fraud and extortion complaints with your local DA, state AG, FTC, Postal Inspector, etc., ignore their threats but record their phone calls telling them you are recording, and sue any "debt collector" claiming to be collecting for them. "Debt collectors" working with this type of scum are usually just other employees of the same scammers.
