airtel collections agencies member behaviour is a very bed.so i need help.

    after getting a better offer from the local cable company (time warner) for service bundle for cable tv, digital phone and high speed internet)
    i decided to go with them. that involved transferring my phone service from ATT. at the time of transfer my balance at ATT was $0.00
    however, ATT kept billing me each month for four months after the transfer.  each month, i got it touch with ATT and each month i was told of a mistake on their part, it was taken care of and of course, they were sorry.  each month......for four months.
    i got tired of playing their game, thinking (and hoping) they would have to get their heads out of their butts to do bookkeeping, i electronically sent ATT the full amount, $80.00
    i was right! they did get their heads...... and caught the mistake,   within few weeks, i received a refund check for the amount and a
    note saying i must have made a mistake, i don't owe any money to ATT.  (ATT refund ck # 6716417763 dated 07/01/2008.)
    a month later i rec'd a "collections" notice from
    "money control" informing me they were collecting for ATT  the amount was $80.00.
    I sent them the info they needed to check and verify i don't owe any money to ATT and if i did..... why would they be giving me a refund?
    month and a half or so later, i rec'd a collections notice from " collection bureau of america" informing me.....
    i gave them the same info that stopped "money control" from hounding me.....
    sometime later, i rec'd a collections" notice from.......... "bay area credit service LLC." whatever that is.... informing me.........
    i didn't want to make them feel left out, so i
    provided the info i was giving to everybody and their grandmothers.....
    one would think something would stop, wouldn't one?  no luck!  sometime later there
    arrived a collections notice from my friends at
    "CBCS"  offering to settle the acc for mere $43.50.  They rec'd the same info with an added: me? send you $43.50 for a debt i do not owe? HAH!
    after verifying the info no doubt, and seeing there was nothing to collect,  to protect their investment of few cents they spent buying the
    file.........  they sold it to......
    that brings us to Afni inc.  
    they are tough!  they want to be paid and paid
    now.  i can put it on my credit card, etc.   i provided them the very same information that stopped all the ones mentioned above just to show i was tough too and i wasn't about to pay a farthing especially when i didn't owe to
    anyone....  so, there!
    From the looks of things,  afni didn't like that
    at all.   to prove their toughness went ahead
    to enter "collections" notice at every consumer
    credit reporting agencies, willfully ignoring the
    info i provided them which pointed out to others that i did not owe any amount to ATT to begin with, in full knowledge what they are doing is wrong, with total disregard of what that will cause, in contempt of the guidelines set by government to protect consumers from these kinds of evil, maliciously disseminate false information to hound, harass and cause harm.
    as a result my once excellent credit rating has plummeted down to their level in society which
    no doubt will take an enormous amount of work to clean up the mess they have created.
    all that......  for an amount of money i don't owe
    my action so far is i filed complaint with FTC,
    the state attorney's office of illinois, BBB office
    for central Illinois.  i will be filing consumer
    complaint with all the state attorneys offices where afni is licensed as business and have physical or  P.O. Box address and government agencies that sets guidelines and regulatesthese kinds of business

    Good luck. My Credit rating was 892 when they got done it was 621.Took 5 years to clear up the mess.In the mean time alot of headaches.The consumer protection people does nothing!Government does nothing yet if it happened to them it would be fixed in a flash!
