washer ripped my clothes

At first I thought it was the dryer so I purchased a new one.  The clothes were still coming out with holes in them.  I discovered that the inner seal came away and exposed a sharp plastic edge and that was what was causing the clothes to catch and rip.  It cost me $130 to have it repaired and I lost at least 5 nightgowns, a few t shirts and some pants.  As I researched this issue, I discovered that Whirlpool has known about this for quite some time but has done nothing to either fix the problem or notify its customers of a potential issue to prevent the loss of clothes.  What a disgrace from a huge company.  I will never purchase another thing from Whirlpool.   They don't stand behind their product.
