Similar complaint.  Similar amount, in this case $35.62

merchsale.org may be a payment processor, taking billing information from their customer companies and processing it into ACH or other electronic payment forms to charge consumer accounts.

The company originating the charge in the complaint above, "12xmovies.com", may be running some sort of "membership" scam, duping consumers to sign up, resulting in monthly charges, then putting barriers in the way of cancelling.  That also says something about their payment processor, to take that type of business.

Note that the charge in the complaint below is also similar: $34.62

"... subscribed to this site months ago. One of my biggest online mistakes. They make it impossible to cancel. I tried using their cancel membership forms, sent numerous e-mails to no avail. I am still being billed 34.62USD a month.

The only option I have left is to cancel my credit card.
    ..."

Contact your bank immediately to dispute all unauthorized or fraudulent charges, and close the account to prevent future fraudulent charges.  Follow up by sending your dispute IN WRITING to the dispute address on your bank statement, and make sure they get your written dispute in less than 60 days from the statement date showing the fraudulent charge to preserve your FCBA (for credit cards), or FRB REg. E (for checking accounts), dispute rights.

It is important to cancel the card number they charged, and not just block charges from that company, or you may find additional charges under this or other names, later.  Also, be sure to watch you statements for your replacement card closely, since unauthorized charges to your old card can roll over to your new card for a few months even when they don't have your new card number.

Brian- I just got off the phone today with some billing company called med media that also charged me 36.92 for membership to 12Xmovies.com. Here's what happened from what I have been able to peice together. Some adult websites - in my case I think it was  Minka XXX.com - have a tiny little box down at the bottom of their sign up page that automaically signs you up for this crap without your knowledge or permission unless you specifically UNCHECK the box- which is unlikely since it is positioned in such a way as to be practically invisible. Some sites even put the box below the bottom of the screen with no indication it's there unless you happen to scroll down to see it- and why WOULD you scroll down, since you have no idea that there is a box down there that you have to uncheck to avoid signing up for something? As with you, I had no choice but to cancel my debit card today. I'll be spending hours next week on hold and scrolling through menu options with all of the people I have auto-debit bill-pay set up with this card. That [***] [***] Minka even berates people on her site who fell for this scam/trap saying that it's OUR fault for not reading more carefully what we signed up for. Of course the whole thing is intentionally set up so as to trick you into signing up for something you didnt want, so there really is no justification for it. It's a trick- plain and simple, and I seriuosly doubt that it's OK to sign people up for something without their consent or knowledge unless they tell you NOT TO. I think that signing up for something actually requires an affirmative action on my part to be legal as far as I know. Girls Gone Wild was criminally prosecuted for doing that a couple of years ago and lost. My advice to you is to think about what OTHER adult websites you HAVE signed up for in the last year and figure out which one of them also signed you up for this 12X movies crap without your knowledge. Forget the better business beaureau - do you think porn peddlers care about that? It comes down to hard cash and nothing else. A better option would be to file a complaint with the state attourney generals office in the state where the website is based- In my case, Minka operates out of Las Vegas and I'll be filing a complaint with the State atty general's office there. That should get the attention of the website operators when their state atty gen office starts investigating them and subpoenaing testimony and documents. I sicced the Pennsylvania state atty general on NCO financial last year ( a bill collector ) for illegal collection practices and it backed those [***] off big time, and it cost them a lot of money as well to pay lawyers etc. Thats a much better plan for these porno scam artists than the BBB. I'm sure the BBB has a stack a mile high on these ratfucks at 12X movies.com and I'm sure they dont care.
