    What phone number?
Might be either an id theft scam, a fraudulent "debt collector" trying to extort money for some fake "debt", or a debt collector violating FDCPA by engaging in abusive and harassing collection.

    Just me
"Tammy" asked for me by my former last name. This would not have been so odd, except when I asked what it was concerning, she said I had filled out an application with that name and my current phone number. I have been divorced from my ex and not used that last name for over 12 years...I've only had my current phone number for a year. There is no way she was being honest. When I pried further as to what it could be concerning, she just repeated that the person she was trying to reach had sent her Co (D2M) an application and they had important information that the person who applied would want to know. I'm not certain what this is about, but I am certain it is NOT legitimate.

I just received a call from D2M as well. The girl tried to verify who I was and kept shouting my social security number saying that they knew where I was and that their company had received some documents that were sensitive and that I needed to verify. When I asked what her name was, she refused to give me one. When I asked what her company did she said "We handle sensitive information." When I asked if they were an attorney's office, she said she could not give me information about her company over the phone. I gave her my attorney's phone number and told her to call him if she needs to verify any sensitive documents. After I did that she said "Well I can verify your address or your date of birth instead." I refused and asked that she call my attorney. When I repeated this, she got really angry and said "Well this phone call was recorded so good luck with that!" and then hung up on me. My attorney is calling them right now to figure out what the hell this company is and why they're harassing me but he believes they are a scam.

    D2M rude scammer
A woman called me, very rude and aggressive. She had my full name and ssn. She claimed I had a debt from a check cashing company, when I told her I've never used any type of check cashing business, she began to yell and say I needed to pay $267 and she had documents in her office for me. I hung up and blocked the number.
