I have had directv for approximately 25 months and decided to change service for price, quality of service, and better on demand access, of course they have to figure how to screw you one last time. I upgraded a tv in my basement from standard to hd,in December 2010 from my original contract of May 2010. I paid a 100.00 fee for the HD receiver, additional monthly charges for HD service and they based on the small print, extended my service 24 months. So I go to cancel in June 2012 and low and behold they slam me for the cancellation fee. I argue they laugh, I dispute they say I changed my service and therfore they are right to charge the cancellation fee. They are crooks, [***] and i will never ever use there services and will tell anyone contemplating using their services to think again. They suck.

DIRECTV thank us for being a loyal customer and then changed our grandfathered package. Too many shopping channels and so many commericals on the few channels worth watching - they suck!

    Direct tv BS
I had Direct TV that I installed my self years ago then switched to Comcast now I would like to switch back. So to today I took the day off and some half baked installer reeking of gonga shows up and says he can only put the dish in one spot on my house on the roof and than he says he can't do the install because he doesn't have the line of site needed in this one and only install location. Which is complete BS cuz if he would just man up and install it where it needed to go there would be no problem but now that direct TV has taken over the install of all the dishes they can only put them within arms reach at the edge of your roof from the ladder. Well unfortunately this won't work every situation and is eleminating the possibility for many customers from being able to get direct tv. The reason direct tv was invented was to reach the remote customer now even people in subdivision are excluded due to BS company policy which that keeps installers from doing what is needed to get the job done like going on someone's roof is unsafe I have no idea how the roofers ever get their jobs done?

Direct TV is [***].  I have been paying (way to much) for going on 6 years.  They botched up my auto payment and cut my service off 2 days after the due date for non payment.  I called them to cancel and they said I had to pay up before I could cancel.  Ha Ha.  I have to pay them to turn my service on so I can tell them to shut it off.  Jokes on them!  They get way to much money for the service I receive.  Never again!
