They call repeatedly 1+year for someone not at this number--and they have been told so and requested to stop several times.  They still call from different operators.

First of all, go to the FTC website or other sites that deal with how to deal with these a**holes and find out what your rights are.  I'm not an attorney and therefore can't give you legal advice. You can report them to the FTC but not much if anything will happen.  If you live in a state that has good consumer laws, you might be able to get help from either the office of your state attorney general or perhaps someone in the district attorney's office.

What I did in a similar situation was this: when they called again,I asked for the name of the company, their mailing address and account information.  Then I sent them a certified letter with a return receipt. In the letter, I stated that no one by the name they asked for lived/ worked at the address and demanded they stop calling.  I further stated the facts about harassment that I learned from the FTC site and other sites and said if they continue to call despite my request that they were giving consent to having the phone calls taped.  In my situation, they backed off but if they hadn't I would have taken the advice of the various support websites to go after them legally for money damages with the evidence I accumulated.
