Dear Sir/Madam,
My name is Renuka Gupta, I have LG product Refrigerator side by side (SXS REFRIGERATOR (LG Refrig SbS 581L GC-B217BLJ)) purchased on 21st August 2010 with extended warranty of 2 year (Extended warranty code WE2057) under my daughter’s name’s Divya Gupta. This means this product is still under warranty
From, May 2012 fridge started to make noise, which actually was bearable and sometimes that was reduced due to reshuffling of food stuffs in fridge section. Later after summer, problem enhanced more and by date 15th -20th June, by that time the noise became more acute to our ears that we need to make and close our kitchen area’s door so as to prevent its noise in hall and in dining area.
After understanding the seriousness of the issue we made a complaint in LG service center, Action was immediately taken up and two LG personals visited next day in noon and we were happy with sigh of relief, but that was last breath for our fridge or I should say indirectly for us. They checked their records and said they won’t touch the fridge for repair work in AMC since it was taken care by CROMA, and asked us to re-launch a complaint at CROMA which we also did promptly (complaint number 46672).
After launching complaint on 19th or 20th June Mr. Dhanesh Shinde came from CROMA to check fridge. Till this time noise was there but cooling part of FRIDGE was EXCELLENT.
His finding was that there was some kind of frosting inside the fridge due to which there was constant hammering of cooling fan with that frost ice. So he said just a replacement of part will make fridge again back to normal condition. Since, that part was unavailable to him he said we need to wait till the part comes from factory.
He came as mentioned on time which was given to him for the replacement by us, on 2nd July.
Dhanesh came and opened up the fridge from freezer side from front and took some photos in his mobile and later started to remove ice. Moreover, he did some wiring stuff, and the bulb got fused (which was later realized by us). He said that the fridge will be ok now.
Later when fridge was switched ON again to check, we noticed that deep freezer’s light got fused and was not ON. Dhanesh said that bulb of freezer is not under AMC warranty and its replacement will be costing to us (Rs. 450). We agreed to him and said it’s ok that we will bear the cost of bulb and he can replace it, Dhanesh noted it and later we signed a paper which was I guess a customer form; Since it was evening when his work completed we thought that some cooling has just started and will become best by over night and allowed Dhanesh to leave by signing that paper. But next day we found that it was nothing, cooling was nil in fridge portion and same with freezer, my husband called
Dhanesh to report this, on 4th July evening he came and he opened fridge for 2nd time from freezer side from front, this time we noticed out that a part (which he called a sensor) was not working and said that after replacing (the light in freezer section) that fridge will work smoothly, he again noted down the requirement and went again. This time the reason he gave was that some part of machinery was affected due to moisture.
And since again there was no option to us so we blindly accepted his words and allowed him to go but again by till night we got confirmed that our fridge was completely dead this time no cooling at-all (Slight cooling in freezer side only).
Again next day my husband called Dhanesh, he said he will come by evening, we waited but he did not turned up, later again in evening we called up him and so he promised to come next day i.e. 6th July.
By till now our entire frozen food stuff was spoilt
After long wait on 6th July in night 8.30pm Dhansh came and again same story was repeated of opening fridge from freezer side for 3rd time, after 10 minutes he again said “thik ho gaya” and gave us a relief. But not yet, fridge was again not working which we came to know by our dinner time and we called up him again and he reverted to come next day to check again.
Next day (7th July) we waited but he did not come to our home for checking up problem and said that he has placed the order to the LG company for spare part (sensor & bulb). And hence again on calling back him on 8th we came to know that parts are still awaited at CROMA for him and later further on discussion with him he also suggested to my husband to call LG personals and make the job done, whatever the cost will be incurred during the same, will can be recollected from CROMA.
Than we had proceed as per his directions, and called up LG personals since this was again a weekend the LG service department (complaint number RNA120710009282) guy said that he will be coming up on Monday to check fridge, and again after a long long wait they came up on Wednesday (11th July), after coming he checked the fridge and opened it up from back side of refrigerator freezer portion which was never done till now by Dhanesh (Because he used to check fridge and open it up from front side freezer portion), LG personal did some welding job which he did not said to us and refilled the Refrigerant gas ( cost was 1700 INR), also he added that the sensor part will be bought by some other person from LG next day dated (12th July) but no one had came till date and condition of fridge remain dead.
Hence we are suffering from huge loss in electricity wastage and also in terms of food cost which were kept in the fridge and freezer for long use, these were the tangible loss but even we are facing intangible loss by losing out our patience ….
What should we do now? Who is going to repair it LG personals or CROMA?
What is the solution and guarantee for it to get repaired?
Who will pay the money? We had already purchased extended warranty of 2 years from CROMA…!!!
Or will the entire fridge will be replaced with new one since fridge is under warranty.??
And the Most important Question still remains unanswered that “WHEN WILL OUR GRIEVANCE BE SOLVED” and even if the tangibles are replaced or repaired, what about the intangible, frustration, mental tension that we had to face from such a long time.
Reply in detail ... or are we suppose to move to CONSUMER COURT !!
