Very recently I bought the following vaccum::  Royal 120v. - 80HZ - 1.25 amps - Model Number: SD 20000 - Plant: umfg - CODE f11f MFG.

As I said I recently bought this product from my local Walmart. I started to have a little bit of problems with it, but I thought is was just a normal thing that happens with a such a small vacuum. But as the weeks went by I started to have more and more problems, and then just one day it stopped working completely. Since it was very cheap in Walmart to buy, I assumed it was basically one of things that you get what you paid for. But since I didn't have it that long, I thought I would l take it back to Walmart. Well what a mess that was, I didn't have the box it come in (and who would since Christmas), and they have a policy  that only things returned in 30 days of purchase with the original  box can be returned. So they told me the only thing I could do was to contact the company, so that is what I am doing. Now I gave you all the information that is located in the back of the machine. Just so you know my home is mostly all hard wood floor. I have two level of steps six (6) on each level, and then two bedrooms with in door out door carpet. The rest of the home is again hard wood floors. So it is not like I am over working the vacuum at all. And I supply pictures to prove it to you, I have a camera on my cell phone and can easily send them to you if need be. I don't want my money back or anything else, all I want is a replacement for the vacuum. That is what I told the lady at Walmart, but again she referred me to you. Again all I want is a replacement for the vacuum, you can see there is nothing wrong with the product. The cord is in perfect condition, the vacuum itself has no dings, scratches, or anything else. The inside of it is as clean as possible, considering that is where the dirt is. But I can't understand why is completely stopped working, sometimes when you move the cord a certain way, it starts but stops. I am thinking that it has a short in the cord, which to me that would be a manufacture's problem. But again there is no problem with the cord at all. It is in perfect shape, no cuts or anything in it to make it stop working, or even make the vacuum act up. I have bought many of your products and never ever had a problem with them, so that is why I always continued to buy your product. But please do not disappoint me, and help me resolve this situation. If I can be of any further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact me anytime. I hopefully will be waiting a response from you. Thank you so very much for you help and assistance in advance.

Sincerely,

Mrs. Gloria Poore

      Mine vacuum just did the same but the weird thing is that I went to look for answers on here and found nothing that would help me. So I sat here watching a movie and took a break. Then 30 minutes later it started it back up. I think it just got over heated because the container was pretty full. Hope that helped.

    Dirt Devil won't even stand behind and send a replacement coupon for a 20 dollar stick vac that pooped out in a few uses. they sent me am email saying to go to these service centers that would cost me 20 dollars to drive to.I emailed them and told them of that and it would be easier to just stand behind the product and issue a replacment but no reply

    My SD40000 Dirt Devil is barely 2 years old.  I cleaned it out, reassembled and when I turned it on I heard a loud "pop" and it's dead as a door nail.  The nearest repair center is 3-4 hours away in Greensboro, NC.  A local Oreck dealer told me it would cost as much to repair as replace.  What Chinese crap!

      I totally agree. I've tried several and all they do is pick up junk and throw it back down. Worthless junk IMO.

    re; Above item has been destroyed, filled with excretia, and soon will be on it's way via ups to the manufacturer. Never again for DD along with the fine free advertising from me.

    I bought a dirt devil vacuum from Walmart about a month ago model UD70167. The handle release button broke and so did the dirt cup release button. I called dirt devil customer service and they were of no help whatsoever,I explained I didn't ' keep my receipt because i didn't think it would be falling apart within a month twice i was hung up on. VERY DISSAPOINTING
