Fraudulent Charge

I noticed a charge on my checking account statement for $21.55 from "VP Experian *CreditRepo 877-2977790 CA." I never ordered a credit report or did business with Experian. Calling the phone number associated with the charge (877-297-7790), I entered a phone system claiming to be for creditreport.com. Searching google, creditreport.com does list this as a contact number. The phone representative was unhelpful and said that without me providing my credit card number and full name (though I offered the transaction number), she could not give me any information.
Since I don't know the legitimacy of creditreport.com, I did not share my information with the phone representative. I called my bank, who cancelled my debit card. They're issuing me a new one --I have to move automatic charges over to the new number now. They're also sending me an affidavit form and will reimburse the unauthorized charges once I return it.
This has been a pain to deal with, but thanks to my bank's (a small credit union) good service, quickly taken care of.
