I purchased a Chateau D'Ax leather sofa in August 2009 from the Fine Furniture Gallery in Kennesaw Georgia for $1200. In April, they sent a technician to install additional heavy duty straps to support the cushions that were sagging. They assured me that this fixed the problem. We even video taped the technician installing the staps. In March 2010, the sofa had the original sags and was getting worse. I contacted the store who told me I was beyond my original 1 year warranty. I was pissed. They just bought themselves time. I contacted the local Chateau D'Ax Representative Bill Smith and asked for his help. He asked that I send him a letter outlining the issue with photos. About a month later I recieve an email response back from Bill stating that neither the company or the store is going to do anything. I am beyond the warranty.

This sofa is a piece of junk and not worth the price you pay for it. If I had paid only a couple of hundred, I could understand. Actually, I have bought items that were less, but held up better than this sofa for many years.

Additionally, I was told the sofa was made in Italy. When I received the sofa, it had no label on it at all as to where it was made, like the one in the store.

My recommendation to anyone considering this company and it's dealers, should beware and steer clear.

Chateau D'Ax is made from the sluced leather next to the flesh if the cow, then covered with vinyl!  Never buy this crap!!

I bought the Ricardo sofa and loveseat 6 months ago in the darker brown.  No issues and think it looks great.  dog sits on it everyday.  2 kids.  Not sure why others have had such a rough time.  I did go with the extended warranty just in case, but very pleased with my purchase so far.

I've had my Chateau D'Ax Novara sectional from Macy's for only 2 weeks.  It has already lost the firmness that I had when it was delivered.  The leather is now crinkly where I sat, and others have sat.  I am very worried this is not going to hold up.  It was made in China.  It is a $6000 sofa, however, I got it on sale for less.

I see a lot of complaints. has anyone been able to contact the manufacturer and get any kind of resolution? The sagging I can live with, it is the cracking of the leather on a piece which is never sat in that I would like to have resolved.

I just looked at one that is on craig's list.  Manufacturing date says 2004, and other than two of the cushions are a little softer than the rest, the whole set looks brand new!  This set was probably not used very much, but it has held up very well.  Maybe it's a bit of a crapshoot as to how well it ages, but this particular set is doing well.  They have had it for about 6 months (and have two young kids), bought it used from an older couple.  I think I'm going to buy it.

Chateau d' Ax Italian set is beautifully designed.purchased in 8.9.19 from raymour &flanigan with insurance. I thought the smell would dissipate with time. It is now 3.4.20 and this smell is still present and causes my exiting the livingroom throughout the day because it causes headaches. Raymour states I should wipe it down with vinegar. I wiped out down when it arrived. I wiped it down mid purchase. I am going to wipe it down while at the store today. These chairs are hazardous creating such a problem in my respiratory tract. Raymour & flanigan has to understand they are responsible for customer safely overall. If anyone experienced something like this please elaborate. Thx
