Unethical Practices

LA Fitness recently brought out Bally's.  I was told I had to have a new entry card and was asked to sign the change.  I asked what I was signing for and asked to see the new agreement.  I was told it was the same as with Bally's.  I refused to sign and began to ask specific questions.  Specifically, does this new agreement require me to let LA Fitness pull money from my account every month?  For that question the answer was "YES".  My response was "NO".  I pay my own bills and I've been a member of Bally's for 4+years with no problems with payment.  As a result I cancelled the membership.  This underhanded practice of attempting to have a member sign something before having the opportunity to read the agreement is totally against the laws of contracting. This is the second fitness center that has tried to force this policy.  Good riddance...
