I received what appeared to be a legitimate invoice then it dawned on me, I'd just paid Verizon less than two weeks ago.  When I started looking at the bill I realized it was extremely long (11/12 pages) AND, it had FIVE numbers attached to it and they all had an area code out of Texas! (I live in Virginia). The only thing that was "mine" was my name and address!  I contacted Verizon and they confirmed fraud. I contacted a credit bureau and was not able to obtain my credit report through the internet because their was an "error" on my info.  SO, had to write the credit bureau, send a photocopy of my SSN card and driver's license, and now am patiently awaiting their response. What I THINK might've happened is that someone on the inside at Verizon opened the account, snatched five free phones, and ran!

Based on the invoice for fraudulent charges under your name, contact your local police to file a fraud and id theft complaint.  Obtain a copy of the police report, and send a copy to Verizon attached to your fraud dispute.

You may also need to file an id theft dispute through any credit reporting agencies showing information associated with this account.  Include a copy of the police report with those disputes as well.

Send all disputes certified return receipt requested, and keep copies of all communications, along with the return receipts.

You should also place a fraud alert on your credit reports.

I have had the same thing done to me by Verizon. they said I open a account with them in 2015. I did not open a account with Verizon. now I find them on my credit report 4- 2018 showing a account charged off. I never was sent a bill showing that I ever had a account. Now they have put me In a bad bind with my bank because aI was getting more credit. I have to clear this up or pay it off.( it is not my account) Verizon just pass me back from department to department for two hours on the [phone with no help. no they want 30 - 60 days to make this right. there should be a charge to the for this action, this ia very bad I will never use Verizon for anything.

An account was fraudulent opened with my SS# approximately the week of May 17, 2015 in the state of Utah.  I have never been in that part of the country (last name incorrectly spelled).  I received a bill in the amount of $103.36 and called Verizon on June 1, 2015.  I was told by the representative that we were not responsible for the charge believing that the matter would be taken care of and account closed.  The representative indicated that we should file a police report and we did on June 1, 2015 to the Walled Lake, Michigan Police Dept. ( Case #15-2739)  We also placed a fraud alert with credit bureaus.  Whoever is responsible optained several other phone numbers.   I  have been getting bills from Verizon for the last two months in the amount of $1765.81 and have made several phone calls to get this straightened out, but to no avail.  I also received dunning phone calls in regard to these charges.  When I  placed calls to Verizon they are either transferred around or completely dropped.  No one seems to know what to do.

Dont understand why I keep receiving a bill from a phone number in Indiana.  Obviously someone else is using my name and social.
I pay all my bills and will continue to do this.    Please straighten this out.

I really don't know what you want me to say a second time.  I have received numerous bills from you saying I haven't paid my bill.  I called and they said I was overpaid.  My bill was only 100.00 but it is still the idea i don't owe this.  #0980905250

Verizon has no inclination or interest in resolving complaints. They are a typical big business, spending millions on advertising and nothing on customer satisfaction. As long as they have the most comprehensive reception across the country, they have no real competition, so they don't have to worry about treating their customers well.

I was i8nstructed to pick up a ihone, reserved for me at target. Qnd then get it activated with Verizon. I assumed that the company who instructed me, was going to pay for this Iphone, since I indicated that I wouldn't be able to afford it. Well after two  and a half months went by , I received the bill for the Iphone from Verizon, and it wasn't paid for. Imagine my surprise and anguish at receiving this bill in the mail, and I am currently unemployed . !!

I agree with Irene on 20 Nov 2018.  I believe someone in Verizon with access to the billing system is creating phony accounts.  I do not have Verizon and I received a bill from a debt collector for an account I had not created.  I went to a Verizon Wireless store and was able to get a copy of the transaction.  This receipt shows I made an account at a store that never existed with a phone number with an area code from another state that is not working.  How can phony Verizon Store information get on a Verizon receipt?  Inside work.

I am trying to file the Police Case Number for my Sister who used to have an account with Verizon. She had her identity stolen. She closed her Verizon Account, and then it was reopened by whomever has stolen her identity. If you cannot point me in the right direction, I will have to wait until tomorrow.
