Numerous call trying to get personal info claiming that I will go to jail if I don't pay.Noticed that the phone number is from a company called Magic Jack,so I called acting like I'm a customer and gave the number 1-713-900-5288 and asked them if they had the right billing address and the first thing the customer service rep asked me if my name was Ken By from Richmond Ca (eventhough it is a Texas area code the billing address is in Richmond Ca)Be aware of these dirtbags and the authoorities have been notified.

If they have thick Indian accents, they are criminals calling from overseas.

Regardless, it's nothing but a scam.
They are liars, and can't do anything but harass you.

I too continue to get multiple calls from the same person with thick hard to understand Indian accent..of course, I know it is a scam and told him so and pretty much told him what I thought of him...his tone then changed and asked if I wanted to have some fun, I said what kind of fun, he said "naughty fun" I thought geeeeeeeeeeeez can't get the money scam to work and decided to be a pervert...needless to say, my husband who was listening via speaker phone, took over the call and made several suggestions on what kind of fun he could have...lol

I have a great idea for everyone that receives a call from 1-713-900-5288 trying to scam you about some bogus charges.....take that number to your place of employment, laundry mat, grocery store all those places that allow you to post ads on their bulletin boards and put the following notice:  CALL 1-713-900-5288 TO TAKE A BRIEF FIVE MINUTE SURVEY AND RECEIVE A $100 GAS CARD...lets see how busy we can keep their number with bogus calls!!!

I just recently began receiving calls from this number and at first I was kind of worried that I had defaulted on a credit card payment or something until I kept asking them questions about who was supposedly suing me and I could never get a straight answer, or at least one I could understand. They also all spoke with heavy middle eastern accents, yet they are supposedly located in Texas. i googled the number and found out this number has been used to scam other people. So I'm glad I was smart enough to see it was a scam and do some research first instead of letting them scam me into giving them money.

I received the call from "ANDREW" (Straight from India\Pakistan or some other middle east country) from Number 8605066514 telling me they were trying to get a hold of a friend of mine who had taken a loan out in my name and was going to go to jail unless I confirmed all the information. I asked them what information there was and they said they could not give that out over the phone but I would have to confirm it with them.  YEAH RIGHT!

You might try to intercept it, but if you can't, then you're out that cash.
      Dont' pay them any more.

If the wire transfer service does not post a warning about fake debt collection extortion scams, then file a complaint against them with FTC.

I was also ripped off by American Firm Law in 2010. Promising to get me approved for a loan modification.
