sss retirement

I filed retirement on sss when i turned 60 last june.I completed all the requirements last august 22,2016. It was posted on their chart that retirement benefits will be released after 10 working days upon the submission of complete requirements. But when i went to their office  this day,the officer in charge advised me to follow it up again two weeks from now. And when i asked her if the check would be released by then,she just answered,not sure Sir. And i have to follow up it every now and then. What i am really afraid of is the uncertainty of the time of when will i get my retirement. I heared from my neighbor that sometimes it will take a year to get it. I have no source of income right now because the sss employee told me i have to stop working because it is prohibited by their company applying for sss retirement while the member is still working. I already have health problems for now and i have no resources to buy for my medicine. What surprised me most is that when my cousin told me that if only i have a friend or a backer in sss it would only take a week to get the check. I wanted to call 8888 to help me but i don't want to bypass sss officials here in cagayan de oro sity that's why i am bringing this up to you first. Hope to get reply.
