I bought a ticket for my mother to travel to Cameroon. She was flying from Dulles to Douala (12/04/2014), connecting at Istanbul (12/05/2014). At Istanbul, a flight attendant requested to take her hand luggage into the cabin because the overheard compartment was full. How can a bag taken into the cabin get lost? I am sure that since the bag was not locked, they saw the content and decided to steal it. Initially, they said that she left the bag in Dulles which she disproved them. Then they said that the attendant took the bag because it was too heavy, so she will see it in Douala. In Douala, until today there is no bag. I filed a complaint on December 06, 2014. One of their representatives: Kika Amangnie Awasom (Kika Amangnie Awasom <KAWASOM@THY.COM>;) replied (copying the following: DLAOPS@THY.COM <DLAOPS@THY.COM>;TKIADBAG@THY.COM <TKIADBAG@THY.COM>;IADOPS@THY.COM <IADOPS@THY.COM>) to me in these words.
“Dear MR Ayuk.
We are very sorry for the poor health of your mother and her bag missing.
Accurately your mother arrived Douala and reported her hand carry was taken in Istanbul.
we inquired if she was handed any claim tag and she said No. If the bag was refuse for the following reasons in conformity with the rules of cabin baggage.
The rules and regulation explains for cabin carriage:

In the mail above, she was instead talking about her bag being refused due to other reason. That was the only letter they replied to me. All other mails have gone unanswered. If they cannot trace a bag taken in the cabin by a flight attendant, how can they protect the passengers? I have made several calls to no avail. They keep telling me that they are looking. They said that the matter was still under investigation. How do you take a passenger’s bag where she clearly stated that she had her medication inside and you misplace it? Such disregard for human life is unacceptable. They have very poor customer service and lack proper security rules.
