received a call from 213-416-2888 soliciting for auto warranty.  since there was nothing on the recorded message to be taken off the call list, I decided to press 1 to get to a live person.  when I asked to be taken off call list, profanity was used and the person just hung up on the phone.  I will continue to use this same approach until they stop calling, it seemed that I got to this person. Fairply?

Appear to be a telemarketing call center reported to be associated with various shady products and scams, possibly including "auto waranty", "debt negotiation", and "loan" scams.

Some reports claiming to be a "debt collector", with one report claiming to be a phony "officer".

Best recommendation above was to contact their phone service provider to file a complaint for Do Not Call violations.  Also file complaints with FTC, your state AG, and the California AG (213 is southern CA, but they could be anywhere).

As of early December, FTC TSR rules required that all automated calls provide a way to be removed.  It is illegal to make autodialed telemarketing calls to cell phones.

If you are in California, then under CA state law they are required  to precede their automated message with a live person who you can first tell to cease calling.

Received the Motor Vehicle warranty notification card about 2 weeks ago in the mail and have been getting telephone calls about this same issue. I decided to call today because something did not seem right. I asked the individual about this notification, he gave the pitch that my factory warranty has expired. I asked him on which vehicle and he could not tell me. He wanted me to give him my VIN, that I did not do. I also mention to him that he should know which vehicle(SCAM).

Here is one way to fight back. Call their 800 number from a land line (not your cell unless you have unlimited minutes!). Turn on your television, preferably to a sleazy shopping network, set your phone on speaker phone in front of the TV and leave it for as long as their computer will allow you to record a message. Repeat as necessary. I have cost them several hours of long distance charges and will continue until I feel better. FYI, for Automotive Warrantee Solutions of Boca Raton FL, the number is 800-376-5644.
I have also treated them to several hours of Sunday morning religious programming.
