Harrasment on a false debt
Complaint

Country: United States
My phone is constantly ringing from these rude, unprofessional people. Saying that there's three thousand dollars owed, from 6 years ago. Statute of limitations is 4 years. So they have even less of a right to be harrasing us. They wont sent any documents to us, and there IS NO DEBT! never had the credit card they claim, and never spent thousands or even hundreds at kmart. How do I go after them?!?!

They have numerous complaints of harassing the wrong people over apparently really old accounts that they buy chreaply. It appears they are trying to use harassment to get some small payment that they can use to claim SOL is reset, so they can sue in some jurisdictions.
Debt collectors are required to send a letter within 5 days of first contact notifying you of the alleged debt, and of your right to dispute and request verification. Failure to do so is a violation of FDCPA, and you can sue them for it.
Abusive and harassing collection also violate FDCPA, and you can also sue them for repeated harassing phone calls.
There are attorneys who take these abusive collection cases on contingency., since FDCPA allows courts to award actual and statutory damages, plus your attorney fees if you win. You might try www.naca.net
