Dear Madam/Sir,

''the procedure at airport was normal'' - no it was not.
''every passanger must present their documents at the passport control.'' - presenting docs is not equal to asking Who are you visiting in Canada? What is the purpose of your visit of Canada? Show us your invitation letter or hotel booking in Canada! How will you financially support yourself in Canada?
''The stuff has been warned about the treats but it was told that there is no mistake about the procedure.'' - they did not let me know their identity and hide their badges. They obviously humiliated passengers ( I have 3 more passengers who agree with me and will testify ).
''Due to the International Aviation Rules requires that every passanger has to be checked by the stuff at the passport control.'' - this sentence is acceptable but what in Istanbul airport they did was not normal checking.

Anyway, I have contacted our company solicitor ( who is in Bcc of this email ) and he will follow the issue. I suggest that instead of pretexting, bravely accept the fault and try to change, with all respect, the ridiculous procedure practiced to a standard and logical procedure.

As I am quite busy, for me the case is closed with no satisfactory response and my solicitor will follow the issue in my behalf. All what I wanted was preventing others to feel what I felt. I am sorry that you are dispassionate towards the offense you have caused for people...

Best regards,
Hadi Zomorrodian

Dear HADI ZOMORRODIAN,

Required determinations have been done and the stuff has been presented their conviction about your complaint. It was told that the procedure at airport was normal and they told that every passanger must present their documents at the passport control. The stuff has been warned about the treats but it was told that there is no mistake about the procedure.
Due to the International Aviation Rules requires that every passanger has to be checked by the stuff at the passport control.
Thank you for choosing Turkish Airlines on your flights.
Kind Regards

Dear Madam/Sir,

I am not satisfied with your response. I will be satisfied if upon my arrival in Istanbul airport on 25th from Toronto the 2 lady officers and the gentleman officer who disrespected me ( and other Iranians ) apologize from me face to face. In my view, this expectation is the minimum that THY can do.

If this don't happen, I reserve the right to seek legal advice and any other relevant channel available to seek remedy. At least this way even if I do not get a result, I feel satisfied because I have done what I could have done...

Dear Dr. Kotil,

Thank you very much for your email and the courtesy and I do appreciate your attitude very much but as on 13th after what happened I had a very bad time for about 10 hours, I promised myself to do my best to push those officers feel the same inconvenience they caused for me ( and other Iranians ) so I insist on my request.

It may become a new play of ''Venetian Merchant'' but hopefully with a different ending.

Dear Madam/Sir,

1) ''Gozen Aviation Security'' is definitely not employee of Canada Immigration Office. They did what they did in behalf of and by the authority of THY as they claimed and I recorded.
2) ''Security procedure'' itself is not my complaint and I even appreciate security procedure because at least it secures my own ( and others ) safety. My complaint is from unstandard and with no logic procedure, the behavior of officers which were rude and humiliating, insisting on asking personal questions, a very stressful pressure combined with arrogance, not letting me know their identity and finally false advertisement of THY regarding its hospitality.

I assure you that if you do not satisfy me, I will do what ever I can do to feel the missing satisfaction. As a business owner with many contacts with media, I know how I can let your customers understand the true hospitality of THY comparing to the tempting advertisements.

Your staff have done something wrong and you are responsible for it.

Best regards,
Hadi Zomorrodian

Dear Mr. ZOMORRODIAN,

We are sorry to learn from your messager dated August 17, 2009 , your disappointment about Security Control at Istanbul
Ataturk Airport.

Referring to your message , please be advised that, most of the countries such as England, Usa,Canada and Israel have
strict rules on the application of visa, passport requirements and security controls. For those countries are being carried out
by '' Gozen Aviation Security'' which is a separate Organization on behalf of Turkish Airlines. As you know, the security
procedures are approximately same in all airports and it has to be for passengers' securities.

As you stated in your message , please be informed that your complaint concerning the security staff behaviour has been
conveyed to the Gozen Aviation Security in order to prevent such complaints recur and to warn the related staff to assist
the passengers more properly.

We are sorry for the stiuation that led your complaint and hope that we may have the pleasure of welcoming you on one of

To the customer relations manager,

Turkish Airlines,

Madam/Sir,

I would like to formally lodge a complaint regarding the behavior of THY security staff towards me in Istanbul airport on 13/8/2009.

I had a return IKA-IST-YYZ ticket. Reservation reference was 2ZLUM6 and ticket number was 3 235 4410057673 5. Upon arrival in Istanbul airport on 13th at around 9:15 AM after completion of TK1277, I was asked to go in a long cue for additional security checks. There I waited for more than 45 minutes.

It could be considered OK if the whole procedure had logic, the behavior of officers was polite and respectful and it would take maximum15 minutes but there was no logic, the behavior was rude and humiliating, they insisted on asking personal questions, it was a stressful pressure, they even did not let me know their identity and took more than 45 minutes.

The lady officer ( who did not let me know his name due to security reasons!?! ) asked me some questions which I considered ( and still consider ) not being her business as an airline employee rather than Canadian Immigration Office employee. When I questioned why she asks some personal stuff she replied we have to check both your passport and visa not to be fakes! I told her, logically there are 2 possibilities to check: 1) you have a common network with Iranian Passport Issuer Authority and Canadian Embassy/Immigration Office or 2) you just check based on the physical characteristics of the passport and visa and scan them for your further use/reference.

There has been no computer and we could see the officer ridiculously checking the passport and visa by trying to inspect all the written things in them line by line!?! Then after this practice, she left her counter to another counter where other officers were chatting and laughing while double checking the authenticity of my documents more delicately!?!

I told her that what they are doing is not a standard procedure and I asked to meet her manager. She forwarded me to another lady who also did not let me see her badge to write down her name and offensively told me if you want to flight, this is it!?! When I asked her to meet her manager who discloses his/her identity a young officer came and said I am the big big boss in THY and my answer to you is that this is the way we want it to be and you go and do whatever you can.

I told them ( and am telling you ) that for any not-standard procedure you have to prior to purchase of the ticket let customers know and during having it done have to be polite and respectful. I told them that I prefer to cancel my ticket rather than being treated that way and they said you can not as you have to pass this security control first to be able to proceed forward!?!

As a frequent traveler and a privilege club member of Qatar Airways, Lufthansa and Emirates, I express my deepest deepest sorrow from this treatment and I hold THY responsible for the whole story. I have been fooled by your false tempting advertisements.

I hereby seriously ask for compensation for the inconvenience caused by THY. If I do not receive a satisfactory response within 7 working days, I reserve the right to seek legal advice and any other relevant channel available to seek remedy e.g. through IATA, skytrax, BBC, CNN, Euronews, Bloomberg, Turkish Embassy in Iran, Iranian Foreign Ministry and Iranian Police.

Regards,

Hadi Zomorrodian

I've broken the smaller of two bones in my lower leg,I was thrown on an aircraft in Baghdad by a porter who had the ordacity to ask for more money as his tip for his help,he considered not enough...!
I boarded the plain with crutches in hand the door staff passes pleasantries in turkish and never really bothered themselves over the fact I had a cast and crutches in my hand ,I finally thrust them at a cabin crew who viewed them like they had something filthy on them and stuffed them in a Cupboard ,the flight found the crew saff out of sight out of mind while they bussied themselves over a Mulla who had refused to put his baggage in the overhead locker like everyone on the aircraft according to the brief had done, after landing and waiting for the Wheelchair man to arrive the cabin crew slipped off one by one to the awating bus and left me with the Med man....another 15 mins while the driver feverishly worked to get the hydraulics to work on the ramp to get me to the terminal,on arriving at the transit desk ,2 staff and the rest milling around in the office I finally got one that spoke pigeon english ,hardly enough to put my point across, the Med man scribbled things and finally got me away ,throught the next bit ,while I was sorting my Visa out 2 locals did the push in bit and once again I was left sitting while they were attended to ,then onto the next CIRCUS....from previous experince I always like to check my baggage in the next morning to save it not getting on the aircraft,I was told that the airline hotel was full and I'd have to wait ,so I asked about going to lost baggage to collect my hold stuff ,with much huffing and puffing and obvious distain MED man wheeled me back to lost baggage ,dropped me off and left me with a lower limb broken leg and instructions to the girl in lost baggage to find it,when it did arrive I had to walk without crutches and the trolley as a support to self wheel my hold and hand luggage back to the hotel booking place ,in severe pain now I tried to convey my anger and get someone to realise the severity of my pain, both were overlooked and the shift manager wouldn't come down as "he was in his office " and busy ,some customer care there eh ,I'm disgusted and to say the least pretty narked with TURKISH AIRWAYS,there associated logistical supporting staff and the whole deal ,I'm in the Raddison in Instanbul at the mo and lets say I'm less than pleased with this place too ,but thats another subject
I'm gonna chase this up ,thats for sure ...!

Turkish Airlines just "lost" my ticket in their computer system. I needed to book and pay a flight from Cairo to Germany on my own expenses, spent a night at the lovely cairo airport... . The staff was rude, was bluntly lying and did not deliver any help.
Funny enough, the same happened to another group of Americans on the airport. Two had a ticket, one didn't (same with me: my wife had it, I didn't). Useless to say that we had printouts, that the flight was 1/3 empty... .
Even the staff of other star-alliance airlines got involved and spoke to Turkish, with the effect that even they said to us that Turkish airlines are "furious" and "not telling the truth".
We all met together, exchanged our emails... The plan is to go as public as possible, besides being each others witnesses in case we need lawyers to get our rights back (which they would be stupid... they were so obviously unprofessional!).
To make a long (very long) story short: what happened to me nobody would believe: bad service can happen, but they were ignorant, aggressive, lying. It's not that they don't care for their customers, they want to destroy their customers and revenge once you start complaining!!! They forwarded one of my email complaints to the guy that did it, with the effect that he denied checking me in!!! What's that??????

Turkish Airlines has a scheme, buy an upgradable ticket but refuse other Star Alliance member "CONTINENTAL" to upgrade it after assuring the the upgradable seats were available at the time of issuing the tickets. Spent hours and hours on the telephone with TK and Continental separately and on conference no no avail. I cancelled my return ticket which was not upgraded and bought DELTA tickets which were upgraded and confirmed within minutes. As a Turkish-American, I know I will not be calling TK for another International flight. If anyone wants to upgrade through Star Alliance members in TK, forget it. It's just another scheme.

We travelled first time via Istanbul and first time on Turkish and this was the worst experience we had.
we are a frequent travellers and we travelled half of the world.

First time we lost our baggage.
We had 18 hours gap between two filghts and they did not give us anything. They promise they would give room, food, etc. but it is just a lie I have spent my nerves only trying talking to airport staff.
Now I am still trying to get my bag but things do not move at all.

I have asked "50" times for compensation but there is no responce from THY.

It is too bad and certainly I will not use THY never ever.

    NJ DEVILS
    Come on people,

I had the greatest and most pleasant flights with TURKISH AIRLINES in my years of flying. The staff are knowledgeable and courteous. I am no way here for marketing, but I need to give credits. I have taken Turkish Airlines on many occasions and never came across any problems. As described the above events by Mr. Zomorrodian, I feel as if some pieces of information missing here. I am not calling him a liar, but I can not see why the Turkish staff be asking about his business in Canada without any reason. So if they did, why can Mr. Zomorrodian just let them know exactly what his business is. What is the big deal. If someone in a cab asked him in NYC what his business is he would have gladly told them that it was just sight-seeing or just plain business meeting. If you have nothing to hide, then you shouldn't have any problems in answering any questions even if they seem personal. I don't think many of the questions posed for Mr. Zomorrodian are in any way close to being personal. STOP IT and just answer these simple questions and make it all easier for all of us flying. We don't need to be lagged behind due to your stubbornness. THANKS. WELCOME ON BOARD.

Turkish Airlines ruined my vacation to Turkey and on my cruise.  Upon arriving to Istanbul, Turkish Airlines lost our luggage.  After numerous phone calls and complaints and absolutely horrible customer service I recieved my baggage.  However upon returning to the USA I recieved my cell phone bill for $152.  AFter promising to reimburse me for my cell phone minutes used and purchases made for 1 week w/out clothes-Turkish Airlines is refusing to pay and lied.  They are the most awful airline and their customer service is the worst I have ever experienced.  I doubt anyone/company can top Turkish Air.  They are liars, unhelpful, and a horrid company.  I will NEVER deal w/ them again and will make everyone known how dishonest and greedy they are.

    Halil AKDENIZ
I am Halil AKDENIZ who was flying with Turkish Airlies from Athens to İstanbul on 27th of March 2012 at 15:30 flight seat: 08B.

When I arrived airport I directly went through check in process and at that time I asked the procedure about liquid (such as parfume, deodorant ext.) and the guy who was in the merchant's(Dimitris Teodopoulou) told me that till 100ml liquid is allowed.(Becase I had 1 luggage and 1 laptop bag which I put the parfume 75ml.) Then I didn't replace it and went through security control. Normally they just checked my laptop bag and told me that; this parfume is in overlimit and not allowed.

I informed the lady who was checking my bag; 'I asked the procedure and THY merchant told me it is not problem to put it into my laptop bag", then lady who works in security said go to THY staff and if they say OK we can let you.

When I  explained Mr. Dimitris again the conversation we had with security,  suddenly he changed his mind and said I didn't give you such an information, what security says is what we will do. But later on told me if you can find an other bag(which is not laptop but handbag) he could let me.

I pleased to my friend to put it in his backbag and went to Mr.Dimitris again, That time he yelled on me  in front of everyone and said that is not your own bag (probbly he was thinking all passangers carry 1 additional bag for such cases!)

At that time one guy passed with a bottle of water not 100ml but 1,5 lt and noone stopped him!

Due to wrong information given me by Mr Dimitris I threw 86 Euros to rubbish (may be he got it to use later or whatever...)

By the way, THY staff was not  professional at all, not well educated and trained about the processes, and moreover I could not speak Turkish with any TURKISH AIRLINE CREW to explain the missunderstanding (or you can call it wrong info given by their own employee) because noone was speaking enough English to give enough info.

**I DEFINITELY DO NOT SUGGEST THY FOR ANY KIND OF DESTINATION.**

I will change my company's decision about THY as well.
