Bank lied to me about credit card payoff settlement

In June of 2010, I received a letter from HSBC Bank offering me a credit card settlement that was to be paid off in 3 installments starting in July of 2010 and ending in September of 2010. I called and accepted the offer. I spoke with a representative for HSBC about the payment dates for each month and to authorize ACH debits to my checking account by the HSBC. I made the first two payments as demanded by HSBC on time in July and August of 2010.
I had one more payment to make in September of 2010 to finalize the payoff which had been scheduled for Sept. 13th that year. I ran short on finances due to major surgery in August 2010. I went on disability leave from my job for 7 weeks. So, I called HSBC's collection department and asked the agent if I could pay my last installment about 10 days later than the scheduled payment date. I explained my circumstances. The agent told me that would be no problem as long as the payment was made before September 30th (2010). He told me settlements must be made in consecutive months or 90 days or less to be valid. So, the agent asked me to hold for a few minutes, then came back on the line authorizing the last payment the be made on September 25th. I asked pointedly, "Are you sure this is not going to cause a problem, where my loan is not considered paid-in-full" I said I didn't not want anymore problems and wanted this debt off my back since I had already paid over $800 the previous 2 months per the settlement offer. He assured it was to be accepted and I would be settled.
In November or early December of 2010 ( a few months later) I received a statement by mail from HSBC showing that I still owed them over $2,100. and a minimum was due. Outraged, I called the the HSBC collection department and explained to an agent that there must be a mistake, that I paid this debt off per their offer and authorization. The agent refused to acknowledge this. I asked to speak with a supervisor and was told I cannot. I told her (the agent) that I have a right to speak with someone above her about this matter, but she refused. I told her a manager needs to listen to the last call I made in early September 2010 because I was either lied to or the rep did not do his job correctly. She told me they don't keep calls from the 4 months ago. I have worked for a call center for 11 years and my manager told me that is not true. Call center calls are archived and can be retrieved for many years as long as you give the phone number from where you originally made the call.
So, bottom line is I was lied to, deceived, ignored, disregarded, disrespected, etc.
By Jan of 2012 my debt was sent to PRA and now I have been making payment for 6 months for a debt that was collected by HSBC per their settlement offer.
I want to sue HSBC in Colorado small claims court alleging the fraud and deception committed against me. But, do I need to sue PRA instead since they bought it from HSBC? PRA didn't do this to me, I feel it's on HSBC's back to pay me for damages.
Help!!! What should I do?
