Good news! Help is on the way!
Complaint
Dan
Country: United States
I just called the Federal Trade Commission and they are very much aware of the problem and are in the process of getting these [***] from Card Member Services. The representative from the FTC was very nice and took some of my info and then gave me a reference number. I suggest all of you do the same! They told me, the more complaints they receive, the better the chances of stopping them. The FTC number is 1-877-382-4357.

We have case ref. #s from the FTC, MO AG, FL AG, AZ AG, and Local Sheriff Dept since mid 2011, and yet the robo-calls continue. . . . .
We've contacted the FTC several times about enforcing their own TCPA laws, and always get the run around-told to contact the respective AG offices! And they say to contact the FTC!!
We've requested from several "companies" their Do not Call Policies.
Nothing has ever been received. It's simply not enforced by the FTC under TCPA laws.
Here is an example of what it supposedly looks like, and because this particular bunch presently has an FTC case against them, we assume they violated their own DNC Policy.

OK, credit services called again this morning.
Finally reached a live operator, who asked for a cc# and informed me there would be a small "one-time fee" to be removed from their call list.
So...I called phone company. Who told me to call police. Police told me to call attorney general. Attorney general couldn't help. So I called the FTC, who suggested we call the attorney general.
Next time I think I'll just take the easier and less painful route of bashing myself in the head with a big rock.
That is not just a Do Not Call voilation, but a harassment shakedown scam.
I've received about 150 calls from these jerks in the past 4 months, plus another 50 calls last year. Apparently they were already shut down once in 2010, but that didn't stick. If they'd start sending these people to prison, including the shills they get to man the phones, instead of simply closing down one shell company, they'd stop calling. How about 20 MILLION cases of criminal harassment, because that is EXACTLY what this is?
Amen to a major legal action that will bring these criminals to JUSTICE!
We are putting together a rough draft lawsuit- BY THE American Consumer!
We will try and get it online for all Americans to possibly use, or band together and make a difference.
