I purchased a new Maytag washer and dryer November 26 and they were suppose to be delivered to the store the following Wednesday. I had a friend go to the store to pick them up because they would not deliver them. When my friend arrived at the store at 6 p.m. that night the owner said due to the bad weather they weren't delivered to the store. I never received a phone call from the store saying that my order had not arrived. I had to arrange for somebody to pick up the appliances the next night. We finally get our washer and dryer home and use them for 1 month and the dryer doesn't dry anymore. My husband called to set up an appointment to have someone come out and look at the dryer. A and E was the recommended service company and the earliest they can come out is in 8 days. I make sure that someone is at the house that day and guess what, nobody shows up. When I call A and E they said that there was a message in their computer that the service man called our house and left a message that he was going to be unable to make it that day. Guess what, there was no message left and there was someone at the house all day waiting for them and they said nobody called. While I am on the phone with them they say I am very sorry and we can reschedule the appointment. I can't get an appointment for 17 days. This means I will have waited 25 days for someone to come out and look at my dryer that I have used for a total of 1 month. I called Maytag directly and wait for 17 minutes to tell them about my problem. The man that answered my call asked me if I would like to use a different service company and I told him that I would. He tells me that unfortunately he can't do anything for me then because I am still in the computer for a service call that day and I will have to call back tomorrow. I will just say that I will never buy another appliance from Sears for as long as I live. I will tell this story to anyone who will listen and steer them away from buying anything at Sears and make sure they are aware of the horrible service that A and E gives. I have read many complaints that sound very similar to mine. I just wonder how these 2 companies can stay in business with the poor quality of products and service they have.
