Complaint

I'm beginning to think that the National Do Not Call List is a scam unto itself. I've entered all of my phone numbers (personal and business) and the calls haven't even slowed. Has anyone had any luck with this list, or is everyone having the same problem? Is there someone that I can inform that these people are calling me and make them stop?

if you have had dealings with these callers since registering they have every right to call you. if you have not you can take them to court, $500 for every call. if none of the above pleases, buy a police whistle and keep it next to your phone.

Everyone has the same problem. I only had luck with one company that I emailed on line. They actually apologized and said they'd remove my info. I sent another company 3 emails and they ignored me. On the 3rd email the woman who it was sent to copied another person and asked if they knew anyhing about it. I copied them both back and said now I have an email trail proving I asked you to stop. Now I can file a complaint. They haven't called back yet...

I received a call from someone wanting to do a survey. When I told them I was on the Do Not Call list they said the rules didn't apply to such services. They called me again, I repeated my statement, said my number would be removed and they would retrain their new telemarketers. Yeah, right. I put my cell on the list and thought it would end sales pitches by text message. I even called my carrier and told them to stop the service because I absolutely refuse to use it and refused to pay for someone to send me a sales pitch. They credited my account but said there was no way to turn off the service so I told them every time I get a text message I would be calling...

I know there are certain exceptions pertaining to the DNC list (like companies you've had business with in the past, fundraisers, etc).
And depending on when you registered that would determine why you're still getting calls; it does take some time for everthing to take effect.

Each time you get a phone call, you can request for that company to remove you from their calling list. You can't just shout "stop calling me" and then hang up; you're going to need to allow them to collect the information needed to satisfy your request.

I get enough of these damn calls at my business that it really disturbs my work day. I dont' have time to talk to each an every one of them and give them this information.

And fundraisers don't have to pay attention to that list? I get so many fundraising calls that I'd have to be Donald Trump to send money to all these people. I'm not exaggerating.

I, as well as millions of others, are sick and tired of these people calling us. If I want a new phone plan, I'll call, If I want to donate my funds, I know where to do it.

How about a list that people can subscribe to so that they can opt in to be called by these people instead of irritating the hell out of those of us who don't want to be called!

I can turn off the tv, I can close the magazine, I can turn off the radio so as not to listen to a barrage of advertising all damn day long, Quit Calling Me!

We have been on the Do Not Call list for years but it seems that this "does not apply" to all the telemarketers that call us. And, no, we've never dealt with them before. I don't fill out contest or raffle slips at malls, yet I constantly "win" these contests if I just do / pay whatever they specify! We are currently plagued by the extended auto warranty calls who give the do-not-call information at the end of a recorded message. We have called back numerous times over the past 6 months or so, but...they still call. We also get the calls out of Arizona for the free gas card & vacation if we'll just provide a credit card number and expiration date to "verify" that we are current card holders. The trouble it takes to fight these calls (and then getting nowhere) is ridiculous. I hate to be rude to people who are just doing their jobs, but I don't answer the phone anymore (I have a messaging system) unless I recognize the caller. If it's "unknown" but legit - they'll leave a message. My ringers are barely audible, because most family & friends call me on my cell phone. - However - the extended warranty people somehow have that number, too. I wish someone would give us a way to effectively eliminate this type of stressor from our homes.
    Thanks for letting me vent.

Am on my state and the national no call lists to no avail.  Still get many nuisance calls per day. The most persistent and frequent are from Globalreach Int.  I have stopped answering any phone calls except from names/numbers I recognize and have turned off my answering machine.  I have found that if you answer one time to any number, the callers seem to feel that gives them the right to call at any time or frequency.  Telemarketers and other unwanted callers use unknown or blocked to disguise their intent.  If a business has legitimate reasons to call, (and that includes bill collectors, etc.)it should have to use their name. Then the consumer can decide whether or not to answer.

I get constant calls for at least three different people on my number.  I keep telling the people calling that my number is new (a few months) and those people aren't here, please take my number off their list.  The only ones that have are the local elementary school, the rest just keep calling (as if I'm going to pay someone else's collection just to have them stop calling me?  Are they insane?)  SallieMae student loans even has their computer call me and does NOT have a way for me to get my number removed.  The do not call list is worthless, I signed up two months ago and the call volume has not gone down, it even seems to have picked up.
